so here's the question... if you are OU's AD, what do you do with bob stoops? on one hand, the guy did a GREAT job resurrecting that program. on the other hand, he has proven time and again that he can't win a big game.
it's tough to fire a guy who's winning 10 - 12 games each year. but at some point, do you just have to make a change? or.... and here's the radical solution that i proposed a few years ago that would never happen.... you keep stoops, but bring in another coach for big games. there are a few very good coaches out there who i'm sure would come back for, say, $100K to coach for a week ($200K for a bowl game). like jimmy johnson or bill parcells.
something tells me with those guys, the sooners would have found a way to finish their drives inside the 10 in the first half and they would have led 21-14 at halftime. and i'll guarantee you they would not have lost the 2nd half 27-0.
