Strange phone call

I got a call this morning on my cell phone from a middle eastern voiced guy saying he was with Microsoft and wanted to ask me a question.
He never mentioned my name so he clearly didn't have it.

He says "Have you had any trouble with your computer or internet connection today?"

I said "No"

He said "Thanks" and hung up.


WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?

I was ready to hang up instantly but heard him out for a second and the thing was over.

I am afraid they were just looking for valid numbers to start cold calling the hell out me or something.

Anyone heard of this type of call??

Sounds shady to me :scared

If he had more info about you that you don't know about could he use your ip and access your computer remotely? Id be on the lookout kegray...

Yeah I got a little nervous and called my bank and they said they would monitor my account.

They didn't know my name so I am clueless as to how they got the number or if they know anything about me.

you may have been hit with one of those scams where they get you on the phone and start charging $15 min and/or rip off your phone for their use somehow. I don't understand the way it works, just read about it.

Thanks I will notify Sprint of it just in case.

I also read a forum that says if you say yes to the question of computer problems they they will try to get you to allow them to log into your computer remotely.

WHO WOULD FALL FOR THAT?? :shrug: :142smilie
