useless stat that im giving entirely too much weight to
teams that have met in preseason, to meet again in sb, winner of preseason match are something like 5-1 in sb (sea beat den 40-10 in preseason)
I don't even know where I heard it, or if am remembering it correctly
fellow poster points out that Denver has gone under their last 5
seattle their last 7! (6-0-1 depending what line had for sf) --wow - that's a lot! a lot of unders.
pats couldn't manage even changing field position on denvers defense (until game was already well in hand), leading to Denver sustaining some of their longest drives ever, time-wise, and then too, mostly getting fg's for their clock killing prowess (see unders^) . <that, do=""
I respect Denver's defense, especially a fan of their secondary --despite the brain lapse against Baltimore in waning seconds of last years game.
I respect Manning -as is truly in the discussion for best QB ever -- no doubt about that. cerebral, work ethic, pedigree... we're all aware
I love Demaryius Thomas - and have always been a decker fan since his days at MINN. Julius Thomas has emerged nicely, s if manning needed more weapons, on top of already nabbing welker (who for him, has had a less than welker like line ty ---which'll happen when have soo many weapons). Moreno who looked explosive at GA, has resurrected himself in being able to pass block better than the other 2, more homerun hitting rb's (ball, Hillman)
shit, ive already rambled on longer than I intended to whence originally thinking to start this thread.
seattles Russell Wilson has not played well of late. not on par having weapons with denvers, or even some of denvers opponents (read sd)
I cant remember the last time Denver had to play a team where they had to account for the qb calling his own number when pass rush closes in.... vs oak? early on -wk 3- with pryor? -maybe luck, to a lesser athletic degree? that said, a qb that can elude rush, create AND has the benefit of a running game - and easily one of the better defenses as a whole we've seen in awhile (nods to sf and balt).
key here -in this one - is comfort in the pocket.
I believe that manning can, and will to a degree, dissect weaknesses within seattles defense. I also too think seattle will be able to get home, and do more than find manning shuffling his feet to get throw off --to the tune of at least 1 if not 2 ints.
Wilson believe, will move, keep plays alive, be patient - and quite simply: produce.
I guess, that really is where my feeling that seattle wins this, stems from
I think the seattle offense wants to score, and often, and will try to be even more aggressive in playcalling than most would expect. usually a good gameplan against a manning led team (or any really elite qb) is to keep them of the field. seattle however has one luxury that most teams do not -- a defense that at least physically, can match the offense man for man. that said, I think seattle has no fear in getting in so-called "shootout" because they have ultimate faith in their defense, and their qb ---as do I, it seems
to say playcalling will be all out, would be a tad overzealous, yes, they will be playing the game with everything on line, but then too, will want to work, what got them there in the first place. to get away from the kind of team you truly are, is playing into your opponents hands. so then does that mean seattle MUST run the ball to win? surely it wouldn't hurt, and they will get their yards --of that, im absolutely certain. Wilson game managing a defense and running team, and producing spectacular play here and there to keep on schedule has been the norm, this day will be that - and soo much more.
Denver will score (in fact, I hope they do)
they'll be at least 3 turnovers
they'll be at least one big special teams play (Im thinking reverse on return kind of play, less surprise onside like new Orleans)
take the OVER the total up to 50
and to a slightly lesser extent, Seattle ML
Wilson mvp
gl all, and enjoy the game :0corn</that,>
