Big motivation for both teams, as a loss for either would make reaching the playoffs somewhat tough.
For the Jets, Newsday http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...4dec22,0,2423743.story?coll=ny-jets-headlines had an article about the fact that there is some question whether the Jets are listening to Edwards and being motivated by him. Most notably, CuMar apparently didn't like the tactic of reminding the team that they were trounced 44-7 at home by the Patsies earlier this season.
Patriots come off the non-showing on Monday night with a few question marks. Brady was not named to the Pro Bowl (not that he deserved it, mind you) but he could be exceptionally motivated because Bledsoe did make it despite leading a non-playoff team. Also, Patriots DT Steve Martin was released this week http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/355/sports/Belichick_tackles_some_questions_on_Martin+.shtml and it could have been because he made some comments to the New York media. Seems like the release of a player who has played in all 14 games and entered the season as a starter could be a motivational tactic.
Given all of this, I am expecting a big Patriots win tonight. Check these things out for yourself, though.
