That's making the assumption that the NCAA cares about the "student-athletes." Of course we the fans think of the potential for injury but, just like in football...the network and the NCAA only care about the dollars which explains why the finals are played in a dome anyway.
Someday, the athletes will ban together and just refuse to play unless their demands are meant...and by "demands" I am only talking about a stipend...some future revenue sharing and maybe something dramatic like allowing for some assistance in getting parents to games.
John Junker (who headed the Fiesta Bowl for many years) plead guilty when they finally prosecuted him so maybe that will be a wake-up call for the other old pasty white men that they can't continue to run the NCAA like a plantation.
