my sons class (4th grade) is doing a *wish list* gift exchange for x-mas this year. classmates make a list of things they would like, and the kid that has their name gets them something off of their list.

the lists haven't come out yet, so maybe this will end up easier than i think, but as of right now, the only thing a.j. knows is that the little girl that he is buying for has *polly pocket* on her list, so i looked over all the polly pocket stuff at the store tonight, and am 100% baffled.

here is the catch..... the little girl he drew is totally blind, and i certainly can't figure out which type of polly pocket stuff she would be wanting....she is the sweetest little thing in the world, and has been in his class for 4 of their 5 years in school together, and he really likes her. (so i know we'll end up going over the spending limit....and no problem with that at all)

every year they have Pet Day in their classroom, and just so happens we always seem to have a litter of kittens around when pet day comes about in the spring.. Abby just LOVES holding the soft fluffy kittens, and hates giving them up when being passed around the room.....LOL. Just so happens that this year we have 3 kittens ready to find homes at X-mas time...do you think it would be tacky to send a note to the teacher to pass along to Abby's parents to consult with them as to what to buy for her? (or if they would like a kitten??) as far as the gift part, we'd give them food, litter, kitty toys, and a litter box too.)

UGH....i feel bad in not knowing what type gift is good for a blind child (that can look to the rest of the class that it falls with in the $$ limit)

don't think too hard. If she likes polly pocket, get her one. THere are several different dolls, and they come with different accessories. Buy for her as a child not a blind child.

A Kitten sounds like a great idea too, see what her parents think.

Why do u always have litters of kittens??

thanks 6-5 ...... glad to know you don't think it would be tacky to ask them. and yes, that's what i saw with the polly pocket things, but couldn't understand how she could enjoy the types of things i looked at (they would need to be seen once you dressed them up to appreciate them)

as to why we always seem to have litters of kittens (and this is the FIRST time it hasn't been a spring litter) ummmmmm....one horny male that hasn't been fixed yet????

this is one of the lil chits we're dealing with right now..... not sure how i haven't just left the x-mas tree lights plugged in for them to chew on...... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rough estimate....pulled kittens out of the tree 300 times today!!

cause I have a daughter, agent, and she goes to about 5000 parties a year, lol! I know about all that stuff.

BM, for the Christmas trees, put your nice ornaments on top and in the middle. Put the lower quality chitty ones on the bottom and let the cats swat them and play. Don't worry about correcting them since they can't hurt anything good. Funny stuff.

Can't believe you are constantly messing around with kittens. I like cats as indoor pets, but I detest them running around outside and reproducing constantly. Housecats and feral cats are probably the worst killer of songbirds and quail. When I meet a cat in the outdoors away from anybody's house, the remedy is SSS.
