Enjoyed the game last night at the end North Texas up 7 with 5 seconds.. UTSA shoots a meaning less shot and it missed and I cover. But if he hits that shot I lose. NT played no defense on the 6 foot shot. No crowd what so ever... no noise,no band nothing At least at the Tex St games they have cheerleaders and band playing with a PA blaring.. Other then playing on your home court their was no advantage.
Wallace had 0 points with maybe 5 minutes left in the half. Jivan is Jivan .. range and body control is NBA material But he forced shots and was out of control trying to do everything. But he does pass well and is not selfish .. at the end of the game he was chucking some shots and 2 were air balls. UTSA has no front line and no post defense. NT passed into Simmons 10-15 times.. He was doubled up and kicked it out and another pass for open jumpers uncontested. NT hit them so with about 15 minutes left in the game they stopped the double team. So NT again dropped it off to him inside and he made a drop step layup and 3 straight occasions. So the UTSA coach after getting beat with kick outs stopped that the double downs . Coach Henson you are a good coach. You played in the NBA for years.. You broke a few Kansas St records while you played there. Your buddy gave me a ticket to this game. You have a 7'0 post center Germany who cannot play any post defense. You thought you did the right thing by helping Germany because you knew 6'10 Simmons was to much for your player to handle inside.. NT responded by kicking it out and getting open uncontested jumpers So you adjusted, but that didn't work because now Germany has to defend Simmons one and one.. You knew ahead of time that situation. But that backfired when Simmons took your kid to the post.. I've got a suggestion coach The key is the entry pass to the Post. Germany was always behind him.. How about fronting Simmons Let North Texas throw over the top and then your extra defender can double team.. . I am 100% sure after watching tonights game you will make that adjustment.. You have no one that can play inside defense and Macasland the NT coach knew that. Simmons is a 6'10 slow big kid who avgs 10 points and maybe 8 rebounds a game. You made him look like an all american.
anyway Jivan is so fun to watch but I can see having some one like that can also be a problem.. I got to sit next to a former coach who sons coaches at a D-2 school in Texarkana. He was amazed I knew so much about his home team and North Texas. He told me Wallace has a brother in Dallas who is high school player 5 star. And the Spurs are very interested in Jivan but his height and defense are suspect. But he agrees with me that Jivan has to be one the purest shooters in the country.. I asked him about his " head" He said thats another story. I told him a few years back went Jivan went after the North Texas fans. He has seasons tickets and said he was at that game . Nice talking to a retired HS coach . I asked him who do you thinks wins tonights game. He said he has the over 144 lol so he gambles too

I'm really not sure. If they stop the entry pass inside that would negate all those open jumpers they hit Wallace didn't wake up until the 2nd half. and hamlet on 4 straight occasions beat his man and went up for layups and missed all 4. NT would of won by double digits if it wasn't for his forced shots.
The only play I see is the over 144 Ist half the score was so low and second half exploded in points

The line is right where it should be. I capped the game w/o seeing the line. I had NT -5 to -6 so no real advantage. So after all this bs and post I can't even pick a cover. I want NT to win again and maybe its a lean towards my mean green. Think NT coach out coached UTSA coach. Can UTSA coach adjust and win or cover.. maybe But I'm banking Hamlet who is a smooth lefty doesn't force those shots and NT wins and cover by a few,

If Texas plays like it did vs Kansas ,Longhorns win by 20, If they play like they did vs Iowa St the other night WV wins. Texas has unreal talent. The gds are outstanding Front line is big athletic and quick They play great defense and have one of the best freshmen in the country in Brown. But there is only 1 basketball. . WV last yr blew Texas out of West Vir but at home beat them. I remember last yr WV warming up with tight black body shirts,no uniforms. wow they looked intimating with muscles being exposed WV lost there one big kid inside. advantage to Texas but again Texas basketball IQ is bad so although they are No 4 in the nation inferior teams can beat them I am thinking just maybe Shacka was awoken by Iowa St in there last game and has his kids prepared. But your going against Huggy Bear .
