1-0 yesterday for +1.0 units. Season record improves to +12.84 units.
Tampa +108 over Chicago White Sox
There is danger here folks. It's called the Devil Rays bullpen. I don't know off hand how many times the bullpen has cost Kennedy a win but it seems like all too frequently. His last start for sure it happened. He had a 4-3 lead going into the 9th and they pull him. The reliever (I can't bear use the word "closer") walked the first 2 guys and eventually gave up a 2-out 3 run homerun to keep him from winning. Anyway I believe the Devil Rays have the best of it here today. Comparisons in the starting pitchers lean fairly easily to the Devil Rays. Kennedy is 7-8 with a 4.09 ERA but as mentioned above has been the victim of an atrocious bullpen. In his last 3 starts his 2.35 ERA has been impressive. Being a lefthander will be a plus today as the White Sox have only been hitting them at a .203 clip in their last 10 games. For the White Sox, Glover is struggling. He brings a 5-6 record and an ERA of almost 5 for the season. In his last 3 starts it has been even worse as he is toting a 7.41 ERA. In 17 innings he has given up 21 hits and 14 earned runs. He has also even given up 7 homeruns in that short time, that's almost one every 2.5 innings or so. As a team the White Sox have only gone 3-7 and playing very uninspired baseball of late. While the Devil Rays are only 4-6 themselves their triple AAA players that pose as major leaguers are giving forth a real effort and trying to win jobs for next year. Always a risk but we have the Devil Rays "ace" going against one of Chicago's bums on the staff. Kennedy is 1-0 this year against them and 2-1 for his career with a very low ERA. Glover has no decision against the Devil Rays but in 7.1 innings against them this year he has given up 5 hits and 5 earned runs. Tampa wins 9-4.
Nice live dog opportunity on Detroit today as well. Good luck men.
