NYI have some hope. this from official site:
Here are some concrete facts to chew on that may offer a ray of light on this otherwise rainy Long Island day: the Islanders' playoff record when facing possible elimination: 25-13. Not bad at all.
Including the regular season and playoffs, in the four games vs. Toronto at Nassau Coliseum, the Isles have won all four games this season, outscoring the Leafs, 17-6. Shawn Bates has scored in all four of those matchups. Even better.
This from J Howard at Newsday:
"Given the Islanders' maddening habit of not kicking into overdrive until they've got their toes curled over the edge of a gangplank and someone's poking them with a sharp stick, it's laughable but not completely off the wall to say the Islanders have the Leafs right where they want them in this best-of-seven series. But this will be difficult, even for them.
"We do seem to play our best when we're most desperate," Islanders center Mark Parrish said a few days ago. "You sort of wish we weren't like that. But in a way, it's also good to know that we can do it at a time like this."
The difference this time? "Tomorrow," Jason Blake said yesterday, "it's do-or-die."

the over looks good once again. this from covers
TOR is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 overall.
The over is 6-2 in TOR last eight overall.
The over is 6-0 TOR last six on the road.
NYI is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 at home.
The over is 4-2 in NYI last six at home.
The over is 3-0 in the last three meetings.
and this from P Hunter in Toronto Star:
"They're going to have a lot of adrenaline early in the game and we have to make sure if there is a storm to be weathered, we weather it,'' said Darcy Tucker.
The absence of Peca, an excellent checker, should open up some room for a Toronto power-play unit that has gone 3 for 33 in this series. But Quinn cautions about relaxing too much because Peca and Jonsson are gone.
"They're not about to lay down and we can't give ourselves the luxury to think that since they're missing Mike, it's a slam dunk,'' Quinn said"

NYI line changes speculated here by Kohsan in Toronto Sun:
"CHANGES COMING: Islanders coach Peter Laviolette said he was unsure who he would insert into the lineup tonight for Game 6 in place of defenceman Kenny Jonsson and centre Michael Peca.
A probable addition in Jonsson's spot is Evgeny Korolev, while Ken Sutton or Branislav Mezei could be recalled from Bridgeport of the AHL. For Peca, either Mats Lindgren or Jim Cummins could see their first playoff action. Brad Isbister is doubtful with a sprained wrist."
