Jose Rijo pitched five strong innings and recorded his first victory since July 13, 1995, as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Chicago Cubs, 5-3, in the rubber game of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.

I am very happy for Jose, I used to go to the games back before the strike and Mr Rijo would come out and sign autographs before the games. He always had a big smile on his face joking and chatting with the fans and kids, he is a class act to the best of my knowledge and has the heart of a lion. From an old reds fan I wish him the best and regardless of what happens from here forward he is a winner IMO.

I guess the cubbies weak bats may have helped in this win along with the fact I imagine the team was really pushing for him too.
