1-0 yeterday with a very narrow margin of victory with Washington in a first half play vs the notoriously slow starting NIU squad. I have probably seen more PAC 12 hoops this year than ever before and have come away very unimpressed with the state of play in this conference. Other than AZ there just is not much there. UCLA has some potential but the rest of the conference is garbage. I thought Cal may take a step forward but their two recent losses at home kind of took care of that. SD State is probably the only other team in Ca. that is solid. Enough of that.

Akron -12 (2)

I have backed and and lost my last two plays on the Zips which has been a highly unusual happening over the last couple of years. Akron has been one of the most reliable ATS teams around and especially at home where they have been an astonishing 26-5 ATS in their last 31 home games. This is the worst CSU team that I have seen in years bt they have manaaged to stay in most of their games until the end. They don't have much depth and their best player by far, Anton Grady, just had surgery on a torn meniscus and will be out for quite some time.

I have a gut feeling that Akron is looking to really tee off on somebody and this may be the day. The coaches in todays matchup have been going at it for 9 years and for a non conference game there is a serious rivalry here. I think that Akron gets it done jsut in time to come home and watch Denver crush my poor Brownies. Seriously though, this is the kind of situation and game today when the Browns usually really show up big and play their best football. I think that they have a hell of a shot at covering vs. a somewhat relaxed Bronc team.

What a homer, :s2:

By popular demand, the story behind the mugshot avatar. He's a real peach. I find it hilarious that he thought he could take cover and avoid capture by hiding under a tree.

Victor Joseph Espinoza, a 425-pound gang member with an equally large rap sheet, is a accused of attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old boy on his way to soccer practice Friday evening, KABC reports.

Police in Santa Ana, Calif., said that Espinoza, 55, allegedly approached the boy and his 19-year-old cousin as they were walking to a local park. Espinoza grabbed the boy by both arms and pulled him close to his body. The boy managed to break free after a struggle, and ran to alert his soccer coach, who went looking for Espinoza.

"The little boy came crying at me, saying that man wanted to take him. He said that he grabbed him and he started smelling him," the coach, who wished to remain anonymous, told ABC Los Angeles. "I'm a parent, I worry about my kids, and I thought that I had to do something."

According to CBS Los Angeles, the coach found Espinoza by a bike trail, confronted him, and attempted to restrain him, but the suspect escaped.

In infrared footage from a police helicopter, Espinoza can be seen crouching under a tree in the backyard of a nearby home shortly before police arrest him.

KCAL reported that the abduction attempt happened in a well-lit park with many parents and soccer players around, and that Espinoza had attempted to abduct another child, a girl, earlier that evening. She also got away.

Santa Ana police office Antony Bertagna described Espinoza to ABC News as an "old school, old time gangster" with more than 60 prior arrests over 30 years. Some of Espinoza's prior arrests include drug possession, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder, according to Bertagna.

Espinoza is being held on $100,000 bail, and faces charges of false imprisonment, child annoyance, and added charges since he is a known

Not sure I buy that he is a gangster, no way he doesn't have some sort of nickname, especially given his stature.

And I feel for that poor boy....being smothered by this guys' man-boobs, that has to scar a kid.

Just some good luck, that is all. But the Browns sucked though, ended up dead even all around today. I'll try to sneak in a couple unders for the late hoop games.
