sorry, i know y'all missed my fades. it didn't feel right to deprive you any longer. so here are my plays today.
penn state (-2) 2 units. playing a terrible team right off the bat here. it's crazy, but psu owns northwestern, winning 7 of the last 8 and covering all 8.
xavier (-7.5) 1 unit. an unranked team laying this many points to a ranked team? insane. xavier has won their last 3 home games against richmond by 25, 21, & 24. xavier has played a lot of games on the road lately, but they won their last 3 homes by 36, 40, & 36.
louisville (+4.5) 1 unit. the cardinals have probably burned more of my cash the last few years than any team. you look at the talent on this team, and its ridiculous they're not a top 20 team. their two biggest problems this year have probably been 1) inconsistent 3-point shooting and 2) sosa has regressed once again. even when he doesn't have official turnovers, he's taking bad shots. today, i'm taking a team fighting for its tournament life against a team that was in the same spot a couple weeks ago, but now has to feel like it's in the tournament. if uconn keeps playing with their recent intensity and they keep making shots, then they will be a force to be reckoned with the next few weeks.
msu/purdue under (134.5) 2 units. the loss of hummel should help this under in two ways. 1) the obvious, they lose his scoring and 2) he's not very good defensively. i have to believe his replacement is better on the defensive end of the court. prior to their first game this year (which went over by one point), these two teams had gone under 8 of their last 9 matchups.
