Hens struggled with Hof esp. in the 1st half...ended up pulling away late...good wake up call. Hens have so much more talent with Sadler who played poorly yest. Usher can scorer,Threatt is back from suspension,and Baptiste can be a force inside..NE has Eatherton who is a scoring and rebounding machine..Hens beat NE by 4 and 13 during the season...but Hens will bring their A game today and win by DD's.
Towson -2 over W&Mary ****
Tow beat them by 2 and 15 during the yr.Mary has been playing some solid hoops.They have their Thorton who can score and rebound...some good players around him...but Towson has Benimon a future NBA player..at 6'8 he just scores and bds avg 18-10...and is a great passer when doubled teamed and can handle the ball at the pt.If mary pressures he can bring the ball up...Dumas inside can rebound and their gds are all dangerous.Gutherie can drive and penetrate,Burrell is solid and 4-Glynn comes off the bench and is one the purest shooter shooters....he had 21 last nite...Tow has the Hens on there mind but don't think they will let Mary get in the way...
Vermont -6 over Albany *****
Albany last yr seeded 4th won the AE last yr in an upset...but they lost 2 big time players...they have played well this yr with a 16-14 record rebuilding...but Vermont has steam rolled the AE...favored to win it all last yr they return 4 starters. If any team is on a mission its the Catamounts.Inside they have Apfield and Rugg,Rusin can score.....but they have the most exciting player in the country in Voelkel.. some what of a throwback player....a pt fd who is 6'6,looks maybe a little over weight and avgs just 6 pts a game..So how could he be named POY in the AE....because he can rebound and he can pass the ball better then anybody in the country...his interior passes have to be watched on replay because you don't appreciate it in live action...if this game is televised watch him....and by the way yest in the Cats win he had a triple double...10 pts,10 rebounds and 10 assists.Albany blew out UM by 29 yest but 3 players were suspended just prior to the game....Vermont is going to the big dance...
Stoney Brook 4.5 over Hartford ***
SB has senior gds that can play...and Warney is the other POY canidate in the AE.. a force inside that is hard to stop..when he gets doubled they have Purifoy who can score..they beat Hart by 4 and 23 in the conf...
Iona -3.5 over Canisius **
Griffs struggled with Siena last nite and pulled away...Iona is so loaded with offensive talent...Griffs have Billy B and Manhertz back who got a DD last nite...Griifs have better inside game and could keep this close..Iona way back lost to the Griiffs....think that woke them up because they went on to win 13 of the next 14...If Iona can keep Billy in control and Laury not in foul trouble think they win this....
Manhattan -6 over Quinn **
Quinn who has been in a tailspin came back yest....Jaspers struggled with Peter for awhile but Beamon is a stud and Alvarado came back from ankle injury and scored 17 pts....he's the straw that stirs the drink... 4 yrs as the pt gd...I remember him at Marist as a freshman...and said this kid will be good someday despite making mistakes that day...Quinn inside leads the country in rebounding but Brown and 6'10 Pankey the transfer from Maryland gets more playing time..
Wichita -12.5 over Ind St ***

Watched the end of the BYU-Loy game...I hope no one had BYU -13..if you did I feel sorry for you....BYU up 14 with about 10 seconds left...Loy has the ball at the top of their key and their gd is just dribbling out the clock....you don't see that to much being so close to the basket. BYU playing no defense...so he just dribbles and its 5-4-3-2 and he takes a jumper at 1....swish...Loy covers...
