UL Monroe +4.5 over UALR ***
Talk about a tough game....have been riding UL Monore since I saw them vs Texas St a month ago...regardless of who they were playing they impressed the hell out of me...not just with talent like Deng and Roberson but the coach...Keith Richards... I knew last yr he won Sun conf coach of the year..and maybe win it today....I sat right behind the bench and just watched him run his team...he made a few adjustments when the bobcats changed their defense on Deng...total control no nonsense...everyone paid attention,etc
UL can score..Deng is 6'11 and built like a string bean...can pop out and shoot the 3..he likes faces the basket but can post up...the key of this game is not Deng but the 2 gds. Roberson has been on fire the last 10 game win streak...big strong 6'1 gd with a handle and can shoot..loves to hit the bds. Coppola the pt gd doesn't even look like a ball player but he also has a handle on the ball and a dead eye from the 3..LRock has no stars except for Hagins...they have a balanced scoring team that are all fundamentally sound...its their defense that is smothering...they rank 3 or 4 in the nation on defense..in the top 20 in another few defensive categories...reason is their new coach Beard is a Bobby Knight disciple...enough said...in 1 yr these guys were predicted for 4th or 5th place in the conf..now they have 27 wins...does defense wins games..hell yes
Enough said...they split with each other.. 58-57 LR won at home, UL won 86-82 at home..LR wants to press but Coppola played almost 70 minutes in both games and had 3 to's in one and 0 in the other...going with the Warhawks to cover and could easily win outright...they played each twice..one wants to slow it down and the other to speed it up.. I'll take the 6'11 string bean from Australia..

spent a lot of time on VCU-Joes and Mich St-Purdue...have no idea..

My daughter in Texas went to Vegas this weekend at Bellagio....it was late afternoon yesterday...told her to play Oregon big and SFA medium....her and her girlfriends went to the sportsbook and played both....she called this morning and wants more plays...I asked her " are you having a good time...gambling,etc...she said they all put a lot of money on Oregon and just watched the game in the sports book...told her you can still bet and go play black jack,roulette,etc.. think she is expecting all games this easy...because Oregon just crushed Utah...
She said they were cheering for the Ducks and everyone there thought they were Duck fans..
I'm leaving for Vegas on Wed for march madness...can't wait.. Good luck today..
