Texas St +1.5 over Troy **
1st of all,what an upset for the Bobcats over UTA 82-63......I know the Mavs were missing their 2nd best player but they were soundly beaten by an inferior team.....and Bobcats had 4,players Black,King,Projovic and Conley who scored season highs or close to that...King hasn't had double figures all yr and scores 12,Conley had 16 and hasn't been close to that in 2 months...same with Black who had 12....so maybe they aren't inferior...but what timing to have 4 players score like that...and Tillsy their top scorer only had 12 I think...anyway Bobcats are playing for a ticket to the big dance...they got there with there defense but yesterday showed some offense...in fact their last few games they have scored 83,63,70,84 and 90.....before that 51,67,61,56,61,and 55....etc...they are still one of the worst scoring teams avg 68 294th,3 pt 227th,FT%322nd and rebounding 290th...they won 20 games so you know its defense which they rank 25th...they do play a half court offense and work the ball...but their defense is for real....they held Hervey yest to 10 pts....they beat Troy both times this yr...63-59 and 75-71 at their place....so how come Bobcats are the dog today...because many don't trust their offense..and Troy can score..they avg 80 pts a game..have Varnardo,Person and Holliman who offensively are better then any Bobcat.
Can Bobcats beat a team 3 times....can the 4 players repeat yesterdays performance and get season highs...can the Tx St defense play one more shut down game..I'll lean and say yes....after watching them play 6 times this year and having no confidence in them yesterday I have to think they have one more game in them....Kasper their coach has done such a great job....I'm sure he knows the North Texas job is open...Beneford was fired last week...and many of you might not know but Kasper played at North Texas back in the day.....NT would be crazy not to go after a "favorite son"....preseason publications including the Blue Ribbon Bible...Texas St 8th,9th and 11th place...but Troy was also predicted 7th,9th and 11th...Troy has Person and Varnardo and they scare me..but I'll take the Bobcats for a small play...
Smoo -1.5 over Cinncy ****
Said so much these past weeks on Smoo....both team split during the season....breakdown each team and player..Mustangs do almost everything better....if both teams bring their A into the gym and there are no injuries Mustangs win by 10....Smoo got there scare vs ECU..they needed that....
