Had my 1st bad day in awhile.Went 4-7 and the Bama win was kinda of a gift.I guess it evened out when Knight got hurt in the Pitt-Conn game.
Oh.well here goes.
Miss St +3 over Bama
This is greyhounds vs greyhounds.Both athletic,both can run the floor,both split with each other at home and both have inside scorers and both struggled in their last game..
Miss St plays tougher defense.Bama is somewhat inconsistent on offense.Grizzard scores 30 the other nite and yest doesn't score much.Dudley inside is a stud.So car came back from being down and really got "hosed" on the 3 pt play.
Miss St after kicking Florida's ass struggled with the LSU zone.But their defense came through and got some critical stops.
Austin in the middle is a 6'9 270 pound force.he has learned to kick the ball out to his array of shooters around the perimeter.And Miss St has some shooters.They have won 7 in a row and have the big "Mo" behind them.Their pt gd Zimmerman sets the table for this team.
Bama is just as quicker but their MO not momentum is winning away from home.they have proved the experts wrong but I think MSU has more balance,plays tougher defense and if it can stop one of the 2 Bama studs they will win this outright.
Miss St's one achilles heel is FT shooting.One of the worst.But so far in the SEC tourney they are 32-46.
Miss St in an outright win.Don't need the pts today.
Kansas -8 over OU.
Really a tough game to capp.I have so much to say in this game but no time to say it.Kansas since it beat OU 74-67 has scored 86 pts or more.Last 10 games they have scored 90,102,95,103,88,102,87,110,108,98, and hutt,hutt,hutt.And thats vs B-12 schools.OU has a great defense but in last 8 games have given up 92,68,87,67,72,103,and 81.Their season avg is 65 pts so they have given up a lot more pts latley.
This series has always been close.Not breaking the players down,everyone knows them.But Kansas is 11-4 ats at home.kemper isn't home but its next door.OU is 13-13 ats,7-4 on the rd.I think kansas will be focused today not to blow this game a la maryland.
Knight said something about Kansas yest that has really caught my eye."Foes work so hard trying to stop KU's offense it's hard to focus on your own offense". I really believe that.It's happened to me as a coach so many times when playing good teams.You do everything to stop a team and use so much of your energies your offense falters.Kansas is loaded on off.So is OU.But I think KU wins this game by double figures.not a blowout but a solid win.
Duke -12.5 over NC ST
Think the Pack is happy to be here.Duke is a terrible ats team.15-15 and 1-3 in last 4.NC St is 3-1 in last 4.But Duke owns them.Won this yr by 36 and 20.Lyr by 15 and 26.think duke rises to the occasion.Small play on them though.Cheering for the Pack.
