nevada.....this is a game nevada can legitimately win outright. if you really look at it, kansas has been very mediocre on the road this year. they lost outright in stanford (not a bad loss per se, but jayhawks were still the chalk there) and they looked very mediocre in tcu until a backbreaking run got them the cover in the final 5:00 of that one. nevada had a cakewalk yesterday, whereas kansas had a bit of a grind it out game. final score wont reflect it, but ucsb makes you work for everything you get and i think kansas had to exert a little more energy than they would have liked. not gonna be foolish and say this is an even game. kansas is certainly the superior team. but for one game in this set-up, nevada more than capable of taking this game to the wire. by and large, theyre decent in the "staples department". they shoot the 3 well, rebound well, and are solid at the line. top scorer kirk snyder is kind of a bricklayer (59%) and that brings the team % down. but the rest of their rotation guys are excellent at the line (76%, 77%, 85% , 78%). nevada catches kansas on the right night and takes this to the wire.

also like the fact that this kansas game is sittin as the lone game on a short card in college bball today. late game. all the other ones are completed. and theres a big-name, ranked team laying --ostensibly -- a low amount of points. gimmie the very live dog to close the night and the weekend in style.

i dont buy the "kansas cant continue to shoot 26%" or the "jayhawks will make a run to get back in it". theyre getting outhustled and outworked tonight. its rare that you see power teams get lit up like this, but this is really a fundamental ass-kicking by nevada. wolfpack shooting good, but not blistering. just outworking em. playing back a 1/2 unit small for the 2h.

id be more concerned in lawrence than chapel hill. even though roy's not your favorite guy, carolina has still looked awfully good at times this season. jayhawks seem to be lacking something though. not the same team at all. although i DO know how much you enjoy seeing kansas tank

How did UNC look right about this time last year? But point taken - they are better. But I saw a team on Saturday that has a lot from the neck down. They gave the game away many times. Bigger problem is their total lack of depth, but Wake/Ga Tech and PUke are in the same boat. It is very early obviously but I am not expecting to see any of them in San Antonio.
