n az +3: picked up a nice win on friday night with the lumberjacks vs e was and gonna try them one more time today against one of the hottest mid-majors in the country. portland state ihas won 16 straight big sky conference games, seven straight conference road games, and just knocked off nationally ranked gonzaga on the zags' home court. the vikings also swept n arizona all three games last year, including the conference championship game. so, anybody still with me?

if so, note the lumberjacks are truly better than their record, especially in flagstaff, and benefit from strong guard play, one of the vikings' strong suits. jacks just game off an arduous four game road stretch and put together their best game of the season thus far friday night at home against eastern washington. tonight they get their best opportunity for revenge for the abovementioned viking sweep last year. and remember, n az is 2-1 in the big sky and still consider themselves contenders in the conference.

meanwhile, portland st rolls into flagstaff to play their fifth road game in twelve days, about 38 hours after rolling a pathetic sacramento st in california. past loophole followers will recall the rigors of travel to flagstaff to be greeted by game play at altitude. and unlike last year, when the vikings beat the jacks on the front end of this two game road trip, today they catch them on the butt side, a significanly more difficult challenge made harder by the five game road stretch.

i don't often come back on the same team two games in a row, but today i'll make an exception.

va tech +14-: nothing so elaborate to offer up on this acc matchup except to say that seth greenberg always seems to have his team ready to play in cameron.

guess i'm binging today.

ind st +3: i see this line rising, and i agree that marty simmons is doing good things in evansville, but how in the hell can a team that has lost 17 straight mvc road games be laying chalk in terre haute? i mean, they're fresh off their first conference road test of the year at ill st and they got waxed by thirty. that's gotta rattle their confidence a little, especially since they also got pasted by thirty here last year. it's like the aces come unglued when they play a road game they're supposed to have a chance to win.

a big reason for the aces' improvement this year has been the play of senior front court workhorses shy ely and jason holsinger, and a big reason for the success of those two has been the solid play of frosh pg kaylon williams. today williams has to check the sycamores' harry marshall, who is also their leading scorer. i'm thiking, all things considered, it all adds up to a tough spot for the rookie.

thanx, pj, here's one more:

siu -2-: line drop along with djp"s 4 star play status have put me on the salukis. siu playing a little short handed, but are tough in carbondale. bulldogs have lost 12 straight here, including a dd loss by last year's mvc championship team.

This NAU game has been insane. As I'm typing, NAU just hit a 3 to go up 1. OH, and then fouled. It's in the fourth overtime.
