5-3 last night, to grind out a small profit. considering how short the card is today, i like too many games.

georgia tech (-6.5) 2 units. the only 'road' game uconn has won all year was against st johns at MSG. not terribly impressive. and if they played there again today, i'm not so sure st johns wouldn't beat 'em. their other road games? all losses, by 10, 17, 9, 14, and 8. so they're not even close. georgia tech has won 4 of their last 5 home games (all ACC games) by 11, 8, 18, & 9. i could go further back and include blowout wins over crappy teams. my point is, when they win, the games aren't close. they put teams away.

boston college (+5) 1 unit. does anybody know that BC is actually in first place (tied with NC) in the ACC? anybody know when the last time the first place team in the ACC this late in the season wasn't even in the top 25? thornton is a heck of a player, but FSU has been very inconsistent.

maryland (-1) 1 unit. duke has lost 3 straight games, by a total of 9 points. which tells me they can't win a close game right now. well, this one should be close.

stanford (+3.5) 2 units. very disappointing season for the huskies looks to be turning around. they have won 4 of their last 5. but wait... look at who they've beat... oregon (without aaron brooks), oregon state, arizona state, and cal (who had lost 4 straight going into that game). and they lost to a struggling arizona team. not very impressive. stanford has won 6 of their last 8 conference games, including some big wins over ucla, usc, and washington state. i think today is the beginning of the end of the season for the huskies, as 5 of their last 6 games to finish the year are against teams in the top 25. ouch.

thanks, morris. what an ugly first half of basketball between gt and uconn. hopefully gt plays a little better in the second half and starts to pull away.

on another note, i didn't realize stanford has snuck into the AP top 25. so washington finishes with 6 out of 7 against the top 25. of course, that means we have an unranked team favored over a ranked team. crap.

thanks, spang. yeah, i don't see how anybody can back uconn on the road this year. the graphic cbs showed at the beginning of the game was amazing... on the road, uconn had 100 turnovers and 51 assists. those numbers didn't improve much today.

hopefully stanford can finish off a good day for me.

so where've you been? haven't seen you posting much lately.
