Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Colo +213

under 8.5 Hous/STL -116

CWS -1.5 -111

under 10.5 Det/CWS -113

under 8 Ana/Oak +107

Jennings should bounce back strong and Schilling is always vunerable at Colo. In one series last season Colo did defeat both Johnson and Schilling.

STL has been saving Simontacchi for Houston. Last season in day at home (with this ump even!) Simontacchi held them to 1 er, 5 hits in 7 innings. Oswalt is sharp as usual now.

for CWS pics, see ndn fan and Bobby Blue Chip threads!

Lackey will bounce back strong as he always does, and Huddy is playing very well now.

went 4-2 in yesterday's pics, +2.74 units (flatbetting one unit risk all pics, except for one 2 unit pic so far, a winner)

so now 15-9, +6.90 units

any comments?

good luck everyone!

Hey Terryray, I always looked forward to your ump reports last year. Is it too early in the season yet? Good luck as always.

on those umps

on those umps

yes, it really is too eary for the ump reports.

tho they could help some folks, I don't know enuf about it all to bother with now.

I mainly do crude trend spotting in their records, and that doesn't really payoff until almost the all-star break.

tho a few pitchers, if I'm taking, I might hang online and see what HP ump they draw. Rueter and Buehrle are a few who have real problems with a few umps that I know of.

if anybody has anything to add, please do.

I figure you'd avoid taking corner specialists like Buerhle when he has an ump with tight strike zone. Iassogna is one that usually gives him fits. I suppose you judge the ump by his SO/Walk ratio.

need some enlightenment on this!

Too many things to get into right now, but I've found that the Corner specialist or the control pitchers seem to benefit the most from the Umps with the Wider or larger strikezones and the pitchers that have nasty stuff and the ones that are actually more wild and walk more will benefit far more with a ump with a tight zone because they tend to get more swinging strikes and strikeouts and don't rely as much on hitting their spots. Also helps if they're match upped with a team that doesn't walk much or that k's quite a bit.

Goes way beyond this....always learning more though.
