Horrible saturday night. Once again Edmonton Oilers screw me up and down the block. I even paid more for the money line, hoping for atleast a tie... and nothing.

Early leans... Detroit of course. Back later with reasons.

DET is 4-2 ATS in the last six meetings.
DET ATS Home 22-5-1
DET is 7-2-1 SU last 10. Both L's on road.
DET is #1 in PP% at 21.28
DET is #2 in PK% at 88.38
DET is #2 in def at 2.18 goals/game
DET has not lost at home since 12/17
DET is 8-5-1 all time against Ottawa

OTT 5-5 SU last 10
OTT next 5 are @DET, @Phily, BOS, @MONT, Philly. Looks tough

What happens when 2 of the top 3 offenses play and one of the teams is 2 in defense? Do I smell an over?

OTT and DET are #2, #3 in off at 3.16 goals/gm

My reason for asking is..
I did one for the POD,but i use the Total games(W-L-T) as my base.
I want it to be fair as possible, owing to some posters using
the ML and some using the SPREAD..

What are your taughts about it.

Thanks
Mr Mo

Mr. Mo: Sometimes I will take the money line (in many chicago games for instance) b/c they have a knack for tying. I think that it is worth it when laying a lot, to lay a little bit more to cover my butt in a push (tie). I consider them no action just like any other sport. Unless you have the +1/2 (and win with a tie score) a game that ends in a tie, and you have the money line, is a tie.

Just my opinion.

Thanks, Eric

This is just my opinion of course... I don't think that it should count toward your overall winning %, because it is not a win or a loss. Your winning percentage is the % of games that you wager on that pay in your favor on games that have action. A no action play does not hurt or help you, it is just a push.

I keep track of my pushes, but do not include them in my overall winning percentage. Others may have different opinions, and if so, I would like to here there case to see what they have to say.

Winning % in hockey is not really important... you can have a <500 winning % and still make money. If you get lucky and hit lots of big dogs, and loose just a few big faves....

I just keep track of my win% for my records I gues.. Hope that I helped.

I like to use it for my records... then others can see how i am doing too.

By the way... I know that we say thanks for good picks and plays around here, but not too many people say thanks to you. When I ran the NBA consensus plays last year for 3 months, I worked about 4-5 hours everyday keeping it up. I am sure that you do the same. I appreciate all the hard work and effort that you put it. You don't do it for money, but you sure do deserve it.

Keep up the good work! Eric
