didn't post a thread last week, only posting 3 plays in the nfl contest. naturally, i went 3-0. today i shall get back to my .500 ways...
tampa (+3) 1 unit. the dog in atlanta games is 9-3 ATS this year, including 7-1 the last 8.
houston (-1) 2 units. everybody is now jumping on the titan's bandwagon. yes, they've had 3 straight huge upset wins. but vince young is still terrible. his passer rating is all the way up to 64.8, which is still 7 points below charlie frye. when these teams matched up earlier this year, tennessee won 28-22, but they returned a fumble and a punt for touchdowns. houston dominated the game, outgaining tennessee 427 yards to 197. they ran 33 MORE PLAYS!!
carolina (+2) 1 unit. tough to trust carolina, but this is an anti-giants play. they've lost 4 straight games and now they are favored on the road? has the line really swung 5 points because delhomme is out??? this is a bad thing for the panthers? i know weinke is mediocre at best, but is he really 5 points worse than delhomme this year?
dallas (-7) 2 units. i really like this matchup. the cowboys will be able to move the ball on the ground against a porous saints run d. joe horn is out and colston will be slowed, assuming he even plays. this will severly cripple drew brees' ability to explioit the cowboys' pass defense. i'm disappointed that i haven't seen a single replay of this all week, but demarcus ware made one of the most ridiculous defensive plays i've ever seen in my life on reggie bush in a preseason game. bush was running left and he had the corner. somehow ware took that corner away and tackled bush for a loss. no big man should be that fast.
jacksonville (+1) 2 units. the jags always play the colts tough. their defense has been untouchable this year at home. all season they have played to the level of their competition. they will be up for this game. they'll move the ball on the ground and control the clock all day. the colts suddenly look vulnerable.
philidelphia (-1) 1 unit. as i've said the last few weeks, the eagles are better without mcnabb. garcia is a much better fit for the westcoast offense.
