Maggio:
I'm not sure what issues you have with Barfly, but I find his posts to be very valuable. I also have met him personally and think he's a very good person. He's also an extremely knowledgable handicapper. As far as Barfly (or anyone else) posting HISTORY (old W-L records), I think this is entirely appropriate for this forum. You obviously believe otherwise. I believe most handicappers want to know the records of the people posting picks (so long as they are authentic and can be verified -- which Barfly's can). If any handicapper wants to post his record going back TEN YEARS, hell -- I think that's marvelous. Five years, ten years, lifetime.....it give the capper credibility aside from just another anonymous screen name whistling his own tune. Furthermore, I intend to post my W-L record for EVERY SPORT and keep it on my page as I go (see NOLAN'S PAST PERFORMANCE). Assuming I live long enough (and MadJack keeps me around, I intend to have my previous records on all sports at the bottom of every post I write, so readers can know what I have done right versus what I have done wrong. That's called honesty. I believe Barfly (and others that post their records) are doing the same, not riding on their past laurels. I hope this response wil hit a chord with you and remind you and others that we are all here to provide information and share the expertise that each of us brings to the site.
Sincerely,
-- Nolan Dalla
