as of friday night...

Denver Broncos - QB Rotation: Jake Plummer (1 Q), Danny Kanell (2 Q+), Mike Quinn, rookies Bradlee Van Pelt (3rd Q) and Matt Mauck.

Instead of rookie Matt Mauck getting the majority of snaps at quarterback, veteran QB Danny Kanell will. Broncos offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak said after startingg QB Jake Plummer exits the game, Kanell will play about 1 1/2 quarters. It's also possible that former Colorado State QB Bradlee Van Pelt could see his first action.

"Last week we wanted to make sure Mauck played a good deal, and this week we want to come out of this game with Danny Kanell playing a quarter-and-a-half of football, however that pans out," Kubiak said. "If (Kanell) goes in for Jake in the middle of the first quarter, he'll go to the end of the first half. But however it works, we're going to make sure to give Danny the work."

This is the second game for Denver, having played Washington in the Hall of Fame game.

Wide receivers thin: WRs Darius Watts (shoulder), B.J. Johnson (ankle) and Atnaf Harris (back) are ailing.

Buffalo Bills - QB Rotation: Drew Bledsoe, rookie J.P. Losman, Travis Brown, Greg Zolman (exact amount of playing time still to be determined).

In practice Wednesday, Drew Bledsoe saw limited action while QBs Travis Brown and J.P. Losman took a majority of the snaps.

New head coach Mike Mularkey makes his debut for the Bills. Jerry Gray is the new defensive coordinator, Tom Clements is the new offensive coordinator.

Cincinnati Bengals - QB Rotation: Carson Palmer (1st Q and into the 2nd Q), Jon Kitna (3rd Q), while rookies Casey Bramlet and Scott Rislov will mop up.

QB Carson Palmer will start against the Buccaneers and could play much of the first half. Marvin Lewis wants to give the first-year starter a little more time than most starting quarterbacks in the preseason. Don't expect to see Palmer play the entire first half. Jon Kitna will go second while rookies Casey Bramlet and Scott Rislov will finish up.

Linebackers thin: LBs Landon Johnson (shoulder) and Khalid Abdullah (a possible season-ending ankle dislocation) are out.

Tampa Bay Bucs - QB Rotation: QB Brad Johnson, Brian Griese, Chris Simms, rookie Jason Garrett (exact amount of playing time still to be determined).

Defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has added some new wrinkles. "We're playing a little more man-to-man coverage than we usually do," cornerback Brian Kelly said. "We're bumping a little more than we usually do. And we're being aggressive in different areas."

CB Derrick Brooks won't play in this game. Also out are offensive linemen Derrick Deese, Matt Stinchcomb and Kerry Jenkins, along with linebacker Jeff Gooch.
