Broncos offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak said after startingg QB Jake Plummer exits the game, Kanell will play about 1 1/2 quarters. It's also possible that former Colorado State QB Bradlee Van Pelt could see his first action.
"Last week we wanted to make sure Mauck played a good deal, and this week we want to come out of this game with Danny Kanell playing a quarter-and-a-half of football, however that pans out," Kubiak said. "If (Kanell) goes in for Jake in the middle of the first quarter, he'll go to the end of the first half. But however it works, we're going to make sure to give Danny the work."
This is the second game for Denver, having played Washington in the Hall of Fame game.
Wide receivers thin: WRs Darius Watts (shoulder), B.J. Johnson (ankle) and Atnaf Harris (back) are ailing.
Buffalo Bills - QB Rotation: Drew Bledsoe, rookie J.P. Losman, Travis Brown, Greg Zolman (exact amount of playing time still to be determined).
