a perfect 0-2 start to the postseason. i have no idea why pitt was throwing the ball with landry jones with a 5-point lead with 5 minutes to go. big surprise that you'll go 3-and-out when you throw 2 out of 3 plays with landry fucking jones.
minnesota (+4) 4 units
minnesota (ML) 2 units to win 3.6. no surprise to anyone who's read just about any of my nfl posts this year. minnesota has been very, very good to me. in fact, they've had a very good year (duh). but still nobody believes in this team. well, i've been a big fan of teddy bridgewater since his louisville days and i am going to continue backing him. the guy is, simply, a winner. and i also think seattle has had a bit of a drop off this year. i know there's been a lot of talk about how good they've been on the road, but here's their road schedule:
L at st. louis
L at GB
L at cincinnati
W at SF
W at dallas
W at minnesota
W at baltimore
W at arizona (who clearly had no interest in that game)
i'm going to take the liberty of discounting that game at arizona. so on the road against playoff teams, the seahawks were 1-2. oh, but that "1" kinda looms large here, because it was at minnesota. yeah, no doubt that was a dominant performance by the seahawks. but the vikings were playing (again) without their top 3 defensive players. with joseph probable for this game, they should have everyone back. and that's big in a game that should be dominated by the defenses. i like the vikings' formula... run the ball, play defense, and do just enough in the passing game... in the playoffs. i think this one comes down to the wire, with teddy leading a game winning drive at the end.
one other factor - it's very interesting that, with the entire world expecting a seattle blowout, the line has dropped to 4.
i truly have no idea what to do with the other game. a mediocre washington team at home, where they're 6-2 (with losses to miami and dallas) against a green bay team that is, well, not exactly playing their best football. i'm leaning gb, simply because of the playoff experience and the fact that they are still the better team top to bottom. if i can maintain some semblance of discipline, i may actually stay off that one. :scared
