Atlanta at Florida

--Florida has won four consecutive games to even its record at 6-6. The Marlins will attempt to sweep Atlanta after dealing out a 12-5 beating Saturday night in Miami. The 17 combined runs saw the 'over' appear for the fifth time in six meetings between these clubs this year. The 'over' owns an 8-4 record when the Fish hit the diamond.

--Greg Maddux is off to the worst start of his distinguished career. The right hander is 0-3 with an 11.05 ERA. The 'over' has emerged in each of Maddux's outings.

--The Marlins tagged Maddux for seven earned runs in just two innings of a 17-1 win in Atlanta on April 5. At Pro Player Stadium last season, Florida beat the future Hall of Famer twice, roughing him up for nine runs in only eight innings.

--Mark Redman will toe the rubber for the Fish. The southpaw is 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA in two starts.

--Most sports books are listing the Braves as $1.25 favorites, with the total at 8 1/2 'under' (minus $1.20).

Kansas City at Cleveland

--Kansas City can do no wrong as it remains unbeaten after nine games. The 'under' is 7-2 in KC games, including three consecutive appearances.

--The Royals collected a 5-2 win on Saturday, as Raul Ibanez and Michael Tucker each hit a two-run homer. The win for KC came as a $1.30 underdog.

--Cleveland is 3-7 for the year and has lost six of its last seven games.

--KC's Darrell May will make his first start of the season. The left hander compiled a 4-10 record in 2002, with an ERA of 5.35. The Royals were 1-4 in May's five outings against the Indians last year, although May was only credited with one loss and four no-decisions.

--Ricardo Rodriguez will make the 10th start of his career. This Dominican Repulblic product is 1-0 this year with a 1.38 ERA. He has never faced KC.

--Most places are listing the Indians as $1.40 favorites, with no total listed as of Saturday night.

Los Angeles at San Francisco

--Saturday's game between these bitter rivals was postponed. San Francisco won a pair of one-run games to start the series, as the 'under' emerged in both matchups.

--The Giants (10-1) are off to their best start since leaving the Big Apple to come west.

--Jason Schmidt and Kevin Brown will oppose each other on the mound. Schmidt owns a 1-0 record and a 1.35 ERA after two starts. The right hander has struck out 14 batters in 13 1/3 innings of work. Brown is 1-0 with a 0.73 ERA. The 'over' is 2-0 in Schmidt's outings, 1-1 in Brown's starts.


--The Dodgers have seen the 'under' compile an 8-3-1 record, while the 'over' is 6-4-1 in Giants games.

--Schmidt made three starts against the Dodgers last season. At home, he posted a 2-0 record, but he lost in his lone start at LA. Meanwhile, Brown was shelled in a pair of appearances versus the Giants last year. The righty from the Peach State surrendered 12 runs in nine innings of two defeats.

--Most gambling outlets are listing the Giants as $1.35 favorites, with the total at seven 'under' (minus $1.25).
