Eagles (+7.5) over Pats
Billichek is a genius, when it comes to stopping the other teams best weapons. The Pats have the better team defense and they play it VERY well! Offensively the Pats have a great QB, work horse RB, good O-line and speed at WR. Every tool NE needs to win this game they have, including getting 3 time pro-bowler Seymour back on defense for this game. The Eagles have a great defense, but more importantly a great defensive coordinator. On offense the Eagles have a good RB and great QB. There is questions at WR, because only TO knows how healthy he is and what impact he will make. I think he is close to 80% even though he and the Eagles say 60%. He will be able to be a factor because the secondary of the Pats is not the best.
Playoffs so far....
Pats hammered the best offense, and scored 40 on the best defense. NE has come out and looked incredible in their last 2 playoff games. The defense breaks through the line of scrimmage and get pressure, which doesn't allow the QB to be successful. Pitt has a very strong line and the NE pressure still got to Ben. Philly played IMO poor playoff teams (minny, Atl), but did a good job containing the teams threats. The defense has looked better than expected. The LB's for both clubs have played out side themselves. I think I have to give the edge to the Eagles secondary in this match-up.
The game that sticks out in my mind is the first match-up NE vs. Pitt. Pitt was able to win that game because Ben made things happen when he scrambled. Something he did not do in the last meeting. Philly's best chance is McNabbs feet, not scrambling FOR yards but rather keeping plays alive and looking to throw. The secondary of NE CAN NOT stay with the WR. If McNabb can scramble and buy time the Eagles have a great shot. I cannot stand the Eagles, and want to get on the NE bus, but my better judgment says the Eagles have the keys to hang with the Pats and 7.5 is a ton considering the last 2 superbowls the Pats were in the margins of victory were 3. Expecting a tight game, with two great coaching staffs and outstanding players. Like I said it will fall solely in the hands (or FEET) of McNabb.
