Seattle
I am in a bunch of leagues this year with the goal of not falling in love with the same team in each pool.

My rules:

1) Don't pick away teams
2) Don't pick teams within the division
3) Don't pick teams playing in primetime

That leaves a couple options for week 1.

Seahawks and Chargers. Feel like these will be the consensus picks.

I see a scenario playing out where the Colts play fired up with a "no one believes in us" vibe. Not sure how Cincy can beat Seattle on the road.... Probably will take Seattle.

I'm also in a league where you pick a loser. Think the Steelers on the road in NE is worthy? Would love to get them out of the way early...

I am also in several of these types of contests. What I do is lay out the entire schedule in front of me. I then try to find the weakest team that has the best chance of winning on that week. Do you really want to use Seattle in week 1? This seems to be what you did in your losers pool. Pitt is an excellent choice. They are a good team but probably will not get past the Patsies in Foxborough.

Seattle is the best pick overall, their only other "slam dunk" game this year, at least for now, is Arizona at home, but that's a divison game. So you have the biggest fav on the board, plus the 1st or 2nd best spot to pick them this year .

Best risky picks are Jets and Broncos. Browns are solid I think, but much better spots later on.

I think Seattle also has the Bucs at home which should be a great choice down the road but you can not go wrong with them this week. I am looking hard at the Jets and then whoever I think wins the DET/AZ game for a league where you can buy back in if you lose in week 1 or 2 as neither of those teams are likely to be used anytime soon.

So who wins the DET/AZ game?
