Auburn VS Oklahoma - Game - Total ( OT Included ) Under 53? +150:facepalm:
Can somebody please tell me what happened after the very last Auburn TD? Would they really not attempt a kick or 2pt try just because the clock read 0:00? The official box score says they scored at 0:01. WTF:shrug:
Scored with no time and players went on the field and coaches handshake.
Since I already lost , would have been nice if they tried the xtra point but they didn't
I guess your beat may have been worse than mine :scared
how in F do they not even kick a FG? I really don't get that. I turned the channel when I saw the TD catch because I just assumed they'd kick it. Jeez
RULE 3, SECTION 2 ARTICLE 3.C
Extension of Periods
ARTICLE 3. a. A period shall be extended for an untimed down if one or more of the following occurs during a down in which time expires (A.R. 3-2-3-I-VIII):
c. If a touchdown is scored during a down in which time expires, the period is extended for the try (Exception: Rule 8-3-2-a).

RULE 8 SECTION 3 ARTICLE 2.A.
Opportunity to Score
ARTICLE 2. A try is an opportunity for either team to score one or two points while the game clock is stopped after a touchdown. It is a special interval in the game which, for purposes of penalty enforcement only, includes both a down and the ?ready?? period that precedes it.
a. The ball shall be put in play by the team that scored a six-point touchdown. If a touchdown is scored during a down in which time in the fourth period expires, the try shall not be attempted unless the point(s) would affect the outcome of the game.
If you lost that after WMU missed the XP to cover you would be ropeable.
Thanks for the rules explanation. It helps reduce the stinging loss some, I suppose.
I'm fairly certain that in the pros they would kick the extra point anyway. Can anyone confirm that?

I don't remember which game it was, but the NFL did have a finish where the team just took a knee on the XP attempt.
I remember that as well and wouldn't blame any team for doing that especially if it's a one point game and other team could block kick and return it for 2...Chiefs at Falcons earlier this season, falcons score a TD to go up 1,then go for a 2pt conversion only to have it picked off and returned for what turned out to be a KC one point win
