I have been watching this board and listening to allot of you complain when Tampa covers but I really don't think you know this team they are a young team that does not give up they really seem to want to win as they will continue to fight even when they are down. LAst year they finished the year very strong and they look to be doing the same thing this year here is how they finished out last year and I would be careful laying the big wood against them!

Date Vs. Starter O. Starter Scr Line O/U
10/1/2000 Boston A.Lopez H.Carrasco W 3-2 -145 U 10.5
9/30/2000 Boston P.Wilson T.Ohka L 2-4 100 U 10
9/29/2000 Boston T.Harper R.Arrojo W 8-6 115 O 10
9/28/2000 NY Yankees B.Rekar R.Clemens W 11-3 175 O 9.5
9/27/2000 NY Yankees C.Lidle D.Neagle W 11-1 155 O 10
9/26/2000 NY Yankees A.Lopez O.Hernandez W 2-1 160 U 9.5
9/25/2000 at Toronto P.Wilson E.Loaiza W 5-1 185 U 10.5
9/24/2000 at Toronto T.Harper S.Trachsel W 6-0 185 U 10.5
9/23/2000 at Toronto B.Rekar R.Halladay L 6-7 155 O 10.5
9/22/2000 at Toronto C.Lidle F.Castillo W 3-2 185 U 10

I live 2 hours north of Tampa and I follow this team closely and have won on them as a big dog a few times this year this team will not give up so be careful!

good points. How do the Yankees play at the end of the season when they have it wrapped up? They tank and lose as big chalk quite often. All about motivation and what teams give a darn. It's hard to be motivated when you have it clinched and are looking ahead to the playoffs. Royals are totally out of it now, but they are playing some nice ball just like the DRays. If we could just see what these guys are doing at BP and hear what they say in the clubhouse. U need to get into their "psyches" so to speak. These teams like the Yankees, Mariners, As, etc. are not unbeatable. Good luck.

Good points guys. I will be keeping an eye out for the dogs that are way out of contention. It should be interesting to see which ones close up shop and which ones keep the intensity up. If nothing else, maybe it can keep some people from having to eat huge chalk on games that looked like "locks".

I'm with ya Irish... You have to give them their Props when deserved... The bottom line is they are the youngest team in the Majors and they have like 6 Rookies that are getting alot of playing time... So they really don't care if they are big underdogs.. They just are happy to be playing in the Big Leagues and they go out every night and try to win a Baseball game... Its unfortunate that alot of the veteran players don't keep that same mind frame..
FOR EXAMPLE: A buddy of mine is a huge Pirate fan and this is what he has noticed from personal experiences at the Ball park....When Jason Kendal was a rookie he was just happy to be playing Baseball for the Pirates... He would sign every autograph for every kid...Well after a few years under his belt and a Big Contract he kind of lost his true love for the game... He got really full of himself and seems to forget about his true fans.. Now he doesn't sign autographs and doesn't even seem to be the same person... Its very unfortunate... But its not just in Baseball.. Its in most sports at the Pro Level... Well anyways.. sorry to babble on I just thought I would throw in my two cents... Good luck to all today.. Lets win some money...
