He never mentioned that a guy making 2M is taxed pre-deduction about 900K.

I am no tax accountant but I know this much.

Anyone in the US that is making 2 million is not paying 900 k in taxes. Not if they have good enough CPAs, loopholes, attorneys, write offs,
hidden money in Switzerland, on and on.

This is what is wrong with the tax system in America. No one knows what the rich pay and they aint spilling the beans.

Its more like 100K and the rich buy another mercedes for their kid and eat shrimp scampi
every night for dinner cooked by a 24/7 chef
who is at their beck and call.

And the single lady with two children shacking up
continue to watch msnbc to get her answers.

Its laughable.

come on freeze, wake up and smell the coffee!

Ocelot you only called me an idiot because I've dominated you in dabates and you didn't have anything remotely intelligent to say about the topic at hand. Thanks for the shout out though, I'm flattered. Glad you dislike me, it shows me that I'm doing something right. :brows:

Nosigar,

Noone is bashing high-income earners, just the politicians who want to allow them to get huge unhealthy and unwarranted tax breaks.

You said: "The real problem is the use of "sentimentalism" as a way of persuading people to give up their personal power to an elite group whose ultimate goal is simply the attainment of power. This is the liberal way. Your words are good, therefore I trust you."

Damn if that doesn't describe George Bush EXACTLY. Substitute "compassionate conservatism" for "sentimentalism".

Another of your statements:
"And the attack on those most favored in a society is a dirty weapon used since ancient times by those intent on obtaining the same benefits as those who they criticize."

If we lived by your logic the American and French Revolutions were bad things. Women's suffrage was a bad thing too since they were trying to "obtain a benefit" that the "priviledged" had. Not to mention every social advance made in history.

This is why I use the term pseudo-intellectual. Yes, the big words sound very nice on the surface but close examination shows them to be completely flawed or regressive. Its just that they are "wrapped" and "spun" in a way to make them sound enlightened.

Also Nazis were NOT left-wing but extreme right-wing despite their party name of National Socialists. They fought and purged the Communists in Germany while consolidating their power in the 30's.

By the way, you call yourself "Progressionist". That's interesting since I have never heard of such a term for a person's world or political outlook. I HAVE heard of "Progressive". Is that what you meant? If you did mean Progressionist I woud appreciate it if you could direct me to more information on this philosophy.

Flat tax or Sales tax yes soon. Or just nail the top 2%. That leaves the other 98% alone. Score would be 98 to 2. Hell thats good. And that dinner. God would have saw through that and picked up the check.
