Four days in and they have only won one bronze. They are trailing Olympic powerhouses such as North Korea and Kazakhstan. :mj07:

Canada still trying to figure out that they hand out medals in other medals than bronze. Maybe they figure when they slop their maple syrup over them as they dangle in their pancakes that all the medals are bronze colored.

They can't even compete in the Winter Olympics.

Jedi.......at least Canucks know how to do math and know how to tell time.:mj07:

Something you seem to have trouble doing.

I thought Jedi Masters were smarter:shrug:

And for the record (ya know since you have trouble counting) Canada currently stands 13th. That means that 12 countries are ahead of Canada. The number 13 comes after the number 12.

Hope that helps.

:canada1 :canada1 :canada1

Also....Maple syrup would stick to the medals and cause damage, not a good idea to put syrup on a medal.

Here's some math you seem to have trouble seeing, kickserv.

Canada gold medals=zero, zilch, nothing, nada, zip, blank, whiff, swing and a miss, empty, nought, nil

Canada silver=same=shutout

Canada bronze=4=big fucking deal

Canadians may be eating a big fat golden bagel in 2012. :sadwave:

http://www.thespec.com/news/local/article/768947--olympics-english-bookies-say-no-gold-for-canada

LONDON?Sports Illustrated thinks Canadians can pull off 17 medals. The Wall Street Journal has us at 20, with four gold. But British bookies aren?t quite so optimistic about Canada?s odds.

Four of this city?s big betting house chains don?t appear to favour Canadians to win any events at these Summer Games.

Ladbrokes is giving the women?s soccer team 20-to-1 odds of taking gold, diver Jennifer Abel 16-to-1 and the 2011 world silver medalist shot putter, Dylan Armstrong, 8-to-1 chances.

Betfred has three-time Olympic medalist Karen Cockburn 20-to-1 for gold in trampoline. While three-time world champion boxer Mary Spencer has 11-to-2 odds at Coral betting shop.

OLYMPICS HOT TOPIC: Stories, photos, links

There are Canadian hopefuls who are in the oddsmakers? good graces.

Synchronized swimming, a number of rowing events ? including men?s pairs and both men?s and women?s eights rowing ? as well as women?s cycling team pursuit all ranked in the top three for teams most likely to win gold. And bookies across the board seemed to like kayaker Adam van Koeverden, who is William Hill?s favourite, at 11-to-4.

But there?s still not much buzz about the Canuck team in London.

?I can?t say I know of any Canadians here. Americans yes,? said Alex Abdulrahman, a 29-year-old son of a wealthy businessman, who was spending his lunch at Coral betting house in Chinatown.

?If this was the Winter Olympics, I?d definitely bet on you ? for hockey.?

London is a city with an affection for gambling and the industry is predicting to the Olympics will generate 100 million pounds in wagers. Betting shops that post odds on just about everything ? weather and royal fashion included ? are found in almost every neighbourhood in the city.

At a tiny Betfred shop on Baker Street not far from Hyde Park, manager Darshan Modi say they average about 200 bets a day ? and they?re one of the smallest shops.

?So far I haven?t seen anyone place anything on the Games. But I think that will change when the events start Saturday,? he said.

Bookmakers set odds based on a variety of factors that aren?t limited to a team or athlete?s probability of winning. They also take into account who fans are most likely to put money on. So while equestrian show jumper ? and medal hopeful ? Eric Lamaze might be riding on 16-to-1 odds, this could have more to do with the buzz about his competition.

The Canadian Olympic Committee isn?t saying how much hardware it hopes to bring home, just that it wants to crack the top 12 overall. At the last Summer Games in Beijing, 18 medals meant a 14th place finish for Canada.

?We know that our objective for these Olympics is ambitious. But our athletes are relentless, fierce and very excited,? said Dimitri Soudas, the COC?s Executive Director of Communications.

With the Games set to open Friday night, pundits were forecasting Canada to bring home anywhere from 17 to 22 medals.

Colorado College economics professor Daniel Johnson ? who has an impressive track record for making Olympic predictions ? thinks Canada will finish with 17 medals, including four gold. Goldman Sachs has Canada with 19, while PricewaterhouseCoopers put us at 15. The Canadian Press had the highest hopes for the Canuck team, with 22.
