Today I am teasing Houston at home -3 [7 point teaser] vs the Lions. A situation likes this arises only a few times a year. Lions without Kitna and Roy Williams and are horrible on the road. Houston is hungry and a far superior team despite only one win.
What is the teaser wheel???
1. Given many games in the NFL end up with in 14 points, you tease both sides of every game with the "HUB" game - today the hub is Houston.
2. If your hub wins, and if at least a few of the rest of the games end up within 14 points, , you will profit.
3. The worst case scenario, assuming the HUB game wins, is that you win half the teasers, and lose the other half, and are out the juice.
4. Today I am not teasing KC, Cinci, or Detroit - just the opponents. That leaves 24 teasers today, and it does take awhle to place these bets.
5. Of course, if the HUB game loses you are screwed. I have not yet figured the odds of having both teams in a game as HUBS. But you would pick a game which should be a close, and tease all games using both teams as hubs. In theory, if those teams play a close HUB game, you cannot lose money. Today, the best hub game for being close is probably Chicago vs. Minnisota.
6. You can also modify the amount you bet on each teaser, using 3 units for the best teasers, 2 for the second best, and one unit for the rest....
