Our house got hit by lightning last week fried a whole bunch of things. Anyway got a new Linksys E2000 that I have plugged directly into my dsl modem. I bought a Netgear GS605 switch that I have in the basement which is connected to the Linksys router, I have PS3, TV, Directv all connected to the Netgear, but they won't connect to the internet. The switch assigns an IP, but no connection to internet,

any thoughts?

You've probably already done this, but when in doubt, unplug everything for about 2 mins. plug dsl back in first, then router/switch. if that doesn't work you can try each respective reset button, starting w/ the router.

Can you get to the internet with wireless devices? Disconnect the switch and see if you can get online with your PS3 through the Linksys.

Do what Saint says first though.

I think I found the problem. When ATT was here I think he did something that messed up the wire I had coming from upstairs to downstairs. I took the switch brought it upstairs plugged it directly into the wireless router and plugged my laptop in the switch and I had no issues connected right away. I have tried plugging the laptop directly into the wire that goes downstairs and the light doesn't even come on, so must be something with the wire.
