Hudson Valley area.....NY
Temple -11.5 over Wake Forest ******
Love the Owls despite some serous concerns....let do the concerns 1st....they win 10 games, blow out a healthy Navy team 34-10..defense dominates and stops the Navy Wish...and they get a bowl game vs the 5th place ACC team in Annapolis around the block from Philly....their coach and few of his assts take off for the more "greener" pastures" of Waco....team hopefully wants Def Coord to be named head coach but doesn't get the job..goes to a Florida def Coord... who will be observing today not coaching....can the players be "up" for this game....I say YES..
1st of all Temple has a great defense....even if the offense falls asleep these guys can play....they can stop the run or the pass....good news is Wake has neither..on offense Walker has played great esp in his last 3 games...he can run and pass...Armstead the 2nd rb has over 600 yds and 8 or 9 tds....but Thomas is the blue chip stud...I have said almost all year the best running back in the country...put him in Alabama's backfield and he is the Heisman winner...kinda like a Barry Sanders...just when the hole closes and looks like a loss he "windshield wipes" his hips and gains 35 yds...Wake has no defense to stop the running game... Temple has some good Wr's and TE's...Wake offense is terrible...terrible offense vs good defenses spells blowout...good offense vs avg defrnse spells the same...
The question is "does Temple bring its "A" to Annapolis....with all the distractions and disappointments Temple could come out flat..any in these bowl games the best teams don't always win... its who wants to be there more and who is more inspired to play that day....
Temple last yr played in the Boca Bowl and lost to Toledo...so they do know what it was like to lose a Bowl game...the team the other day toured Wash DC....they took a team picture near one of the Wash monuments..and they took another picture with 26 players wearing their graduation gowns since they already graduated last semester...I like that....not sure how many teams playing in these bowl games already have 26 graduated players....not sure how that will help in today's game but I think these kids will be focused and beat wake by 3 or 4 Td's....

North Texas +11 over Army *
Who knows which team will show up.. I was at the last game these guys played...thought Army would kill North Texas..and NT shocks everyone and wins 35-18...Army had 7 turnovers and NT defense stop Army's wish...NT's heads are so big upsetting Army they lose 4 of the next 5 and get blown out of 3 of those...Army meanwhile had won 4 of last 5 before the NT game...NT benches it qb and replaces him with someone who lost the job after the 1st game...Wilson who had over 150 yds vs Army has knee surgery and has been out until today.. his replacement Ivory is now out...Goree a top Wr who was suspended earlier in the season for driving around the Walmart parking lot drunk, forgot to go to classes in December thinking NT's season is over...another WR is also suspended...NT is one of 2 teams playing with a losing record because of their APR scores are so high...when coaches found out they had a chance to go to a bowl games they had to make sure players continued to attend classes the last few weeks in Dec....Army who has looked bad upsets Navy for the 1st time in 15 years...and lets not forget Navy had some key players out because if they were healthy army would of lost for the 16 th yr in a row...Th NCAA committee rewards North Texas with a bowl game at the Cotton Bowl around 35 miles south of I-35...have no idea if North Texas is excited about playing.. Esp after their last game vs UTEP giving up 555 yds losing 52-24... now Army can get some revenge today vs a losing North Texas team....think Army should of just ended its season after beating Navy..carrying Monken on its shoulders..celebrating....
I was at the last bowl game a few years ago in Dallas when North Texas beat UNLV...when NT won the fans stormed the field...I think both teams had 5 or 6 losses already so storming the field was not really at huge uplifting event...have a feeling if NT wins our Mean green fans could storm again....maybe celebrating a .500 season
Army -11 over North Texas * or maybe North Texas +11* or maybe should just pass and cheer on my alma mmater...I do have 2 teasers..one with Army -1 and NT +20...maybe one of those could hit.

Temple big over Wake ****** huge play for me..

here's one for you box, when was the last time an army team beat navy and won a bowl game in the same season? if I was army's coach I'd be playing that violin in the locker room.

Happy Holidays Box. Hope you're enjoying this 57 degrees in NY.

Line on Temple at my book has dropped from -12 to -10.5.

Any insight?

Wake has a way of sometimes making it an ugly game. They can be like Princeton basketball.Have seen them many times lose to FSU
or other heavy 3 TD fav by small margin in a tight low scoring game.
