c michigan -5: speaking of 3 game road trips, this afternoon finds tennessee tech rolling into mt pleasant for their third road game of the week. tech golden eagles are a middle of the road ohio valley conference (ovc) team that caught some attention when they started the season 7-1. however, a cursory review of those 7 wins shows wins over midway, boyce (who?), kennesaw st, new mexico, neb-omaha, md-eastern shore and lipscomb. not exactly murderer's row. on the first two leg's of this week's road trip, the golden eagles lost and failed to cover at furman and dayton, two venues that sport real teams.
now tech (#199) arrives in mount pleasant to face a chippewa team (#175) that has reinvented itself this year as a defensive squad, holding 6 of 8 opponents under 70 pts. last game they held montana st (#185) to 48 pts in a 27 pt win as a 2 pt favorite. c mich is currently 7-1, their only loss by 7 @ michigan as a 22- pt dog. all factors point to a chippewa cover.
