oliver vs. elarton
this is one of those anything goes games, thus the 11.5 o/u, with both pitchers showing some hefty eras, in the 6 plus range.
oliver's last two give me a ray of hope for a slight upset here, pitching both away at seattle and l.a., and ironically (once again), losing his best show, a 7 inning, 1 run game to seattle, and winning a 6 inning, 3 run performance at l.a. the fact that both of these were away reinforce my pick here.
elarton has been very steady lately (in a bad way), averaging over a 7 era in that span, much worse in his last 3 games (about 9).
this game should be a pick em, instead houston is favored at -145, thus making a +135 on texas excellent value.
