Guys are funny. . . Arizona can go on some major runs but you both think you know this team

I'm not saying they cover, but they sure has hell could with 10 minutes left in the game.

As far as Walton, you're 100% correct. . . major disappointment but he has been injured most of the year. Can't understand why they don't take him out for a few weeks to see if he improves. It's like the coaching staff is satisfied with his mediocre play.

Walton is a solid team player and HUGE leader. He was good last year so it was figuered he be gret this year. He has been playing 80% all year only practices on Wednesday's cut him a break. So he's not the supper star he was made out to be, but would start on any team in the country.

I hope you jinxed the Cats by saying they wouldn't cover. Looking DAMN good right now.

Texas is up by 5 and only shooting 33% or so, Nebraska plays everyone tough for the first half at home and then fall apart. i wouldn't give up hope on the Horns at all.

Nickel and Kid you have no idea how much I hope you are right!!
I have absolutely no problem eating my words, especially when it comes to a team finishing strong. My observations are based on how my weeks been going so far, LOL!!

Best of luck!!

ststrl,

I respect your feelings for Walton as he has had a great college career until this year. But, you gotta be realistic. No way in hell Walton should be starting on our team right now. He is slow. . . espcially getting back to the defensive end of the court after he screws up. He makes untimely turnovers. He forces shots in key situations. . . these are horrific decisions that are not just because he has been injured! I think the coaching staff has played him hard to try and break him of this piss poor playing, but in my opinion he should not be playing on our first team. . . we have too much talent sitting on the bench and you say he's a great leader, I'm not so sure about that either. . . our team doesn't look motivated at times and I blame that on our two quiet leaders in Walton and Gardner. We need Eugene back!

Man Eugene, he was a GREAT leader, loved those high old school socks and knee pads. So maybe I am blind I agree Walton does blow it at times, looking great right now. But i still like him. I think that had he not been on the cover of ESPN mag SI and so hyped up this would be an ok year for him. The more I think of it the more I realize Andre would probably be a betetr starter, but what can you do, I have noticed lately that Walton has been playing significantly less minutes than earlier this season.

I just get pissed when people talk shit about UofA. At times we look flat and maybe aren't the number 1 team in the country, but its been said once its been said a million times, West coast PAC-10 gets little respect. Granted the PAC is weak this year.

RAZ I hope you can eat your words and take thsi UofA cover all the way to the BANK!

Cheers

Raz also said that Arizona is not the #1 team right now. . . I agree with that. . . I've agreed with that for a long time now. I don't feel Arizona is worthy of the top spot except for their record which is at the top right now as far as fewest losses with Louisville.

But here's what I think about:

Which team would you want in the tournament when we get to March? If Arizona has motivation as they should, there isn't a better team in the country. They are so dangerous when they actually play some tough defense! They can be down by double digits at the half at Kansas and put together a half that has them win the game by double digits. I'm convinced that when this team is playing their absolute best, there is not a team that can beat them. . . not Kentucky, Louisville, etc. This is the team I would want in March and I really feel the missing piece is finding a leader that motivates this team.

What makes UofA #1, despite record and depth is that at any moment up by 20 down by 15 UofA can turn it on then go on some crazy ass run. Every game from the loss at LSU O.T. win at UofW and this game we have gone on a 10 or more point run. So like you said. With the depth and ability to make runs thsi team will be dangerous come March.
