The Rangers will make a couple of lineup adjustments on Monday. Andres Galarraga is expected to be back at either designated hitter or first base. Scott Sheldon will start at third for Ken Caminiti.

The Rangers went without a home run Sunday, ending their club record of 18 consecutive games with at least one homer.
Maybe it's a good thing the streak ended. It's possible the Rangers offense has relied too much on the home run ball to provide its sustenance. The Rangers haven't gotten simple singles and doubles with runners in scoring position on this trip. They are 13-for-61 (.213) with runners in scoring position in the five games.

Monday's scouting report
05/28/2001

RANGERS STARTER KENNY ROGERS (3-3): After winning his first start, the left-hander endured a seven-game winless streak. It was the longest winless stretch of his career. Since then, Rogers has won back-to-back starts. He held Tampa Bay scoreless for six innings on Tuesday for his fourth quality start of the season. As a staff, the Rangers have only nine quality starts. Rogers was 2-0 against Baltimore last year and is 3-1 with a 4.15 ERA for his career at Camden Yards.
LOVES TO FACE: Brady Anderson (7-for-39)

HATES TO FACE: David Segui (7-for-19)

ABOUT THE RANGERS: The Rangers are 6-17 in May. They haven't had a full month in which they've won fewer than nine games since May 1990. They last won fewer than eight games in August 1973 on the way to a 57-105 record.

ORIOLES STARTER JOSH TOWERS (1-1): With Pat Hentgen on the disabled because of right elbow tendinitis, the Orioles recalled Towers from Triple-A Rochester where the right-hander was 3-1 with a 3.51 ERA in six starts. He pitched for the Orioles earlier this season, going 1-1 in four relief appearances. This will be his first career major league start. He was a 15th-round draft choice in 1996 and has compiled a 43-25 record in the minor leagues. He has never faced the Rangers.
ABOUT THE ORIOLES: Catcher Brook Fordyce has been a terror against left-handed pitchers this year. He is hitting .444 with five extra-base hits in 29 at-bats against lefties. It is a far different story against right-handers, however. Fordyce is batting just .146 (14-for-96) with three extra-base hits against righties
