TEXAS VS. TEXAS A&M ? November 25th, 12:00 PM EST
Texas is smelling the roses by now and there is absolutely no chance that there will be a letdown by the Longhorns in this bitter in-state rivalry game. Vince Young was briefly the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy until Reggie Bush?s phenomenal performance last week against Fresno State and he and Mack Brown will be doing everything they can to showcase his talent this week in the hopes of making everyone forget about Bush. The Aggies have a very porous defense and will likely give Young all the opportunity that he needs to impress one of the largest national audiences of this season.

From several reliable sources I am getting the news that Reggie McNeal may not be able to play tomorrow in the Texas/Texas A&M game. Both Reggie and the team have been saying all week that McNeal would start but it appears that McNeil went for a second opinion on his ankle injury so who knows. What I do know is that Franny is on thin ice and a blowout in this game could be the end of his stint in Aggieland so we can be sure he will have some tricks up his sleeve. He better because don?t look now but the A&M passing defense is ranked dead last in Division 1 and Vince Young is ranked No. 2 in passing efficiency with 2,414 yards, 22 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.

Texas has outscored their opponents by an average score of 50-14 this season and are clicking on all cylinders with an extra week of rest under their belts. The Longhorns have been held to under 50 points only twice all season and in their most recent road game, dropped 66 points on a Kansas defense that is head and shoulders above the one the Aggies will field for this game. The Texas defense has allowed only 16 touchdowns all season and only one team has been able to score three in a single game. During the last three games, the Horns held their opponents scoreless over a stretch of eight quarters (halftime at Okie State to halftime against Kansas) while the offense scored 149 unanswered points. In each of those same three games, Texas was able to put up over 600 yards of total offense.

Over the last thirty years, I probably have wagered on this game only two or three times and one of those wagers was against Texas so you can be sure that I feel very strongly about the outcome in this one. Texas has a far superior team on both sides of the ball and with Young?s Heisman campaign being showcased for the entire country and Texas? National Championship hopes on the line, the Longhorns will be out to destroy A&M. Without McNeal in the lineup (or at best playing hurt) I don?t think there is a thing that the Aggies can do to stop the freight train. Bye-bye Fran, I bet that Bama job is probably not looking so bad about now.
The Verdict: TEXAS (-27)
