#7 Brook Shaw's Old Country Store, Jackson, Tenn.

<figure abp="350"><figcaption abp="351"><!-- slide body text --> Picture in your mind?s eye your best approximation of what a place in Jackson, Tennessee, called Brook Shaw's Old Country Store would look like. Weathered wood, front porch, antiques on the walls, and plenty of home cookin?, right? You got it. Open nearly every day since 1965, the buffet at old-fashioned ?whistlestop? Casey Jones Village serves a huge selection of country favorites, like country ham, turnip greens, cracklin? cornbread, chess pie, fried chicken, sweet potato casserole, pulled pork, fried catfish, pickled okra, ribs? If you?re a fan of down-home country cooking, Brook Shaw?s is a must-visit.

Vegas Buffets

Vegas Buffets

Its obviously a matter of preferences and timing.

Wynns, 4 years ago was an embarrassment to me...lots of money, and just barely OK...maybe its changed?

Caesars 2012 (when they opened) was a do not miss spectacle. Since then they have noticeably cheapened the product; they replaced humongous peel your shrimp with smaller, and did away with to die for lump blue crab cakes.

Bellagio used to be the standard, but has slipped in recent years, good, but not overly memorable.

Paris is consistently a good experience, HEAVY, Rich French dishes, prepare to gain serious poundage...

For the plus money and for good product at all times, hard to beat lunch at ARIA. Does't get much press, but its the real deal.

For basic good, filling Fried Chicken, Brisket, taters, Fish, Pizza, comfort food, all done well...Downtown Main Street Station Lunch is about 8.95 and will seriously fill you up, and then some.

My personal favorite cheap eats buffet is Sam'sTown on the Vegas Boulder strip, near The Cannery....they pride themselves on their home style fresh baked and fried chicken. Lunch buffet there I believe is 7.95; Senior day, Wed I believe, free with any machine gambling.

Nice thing about Vegas....being an un-repenting food-whore...plenty of choices.x23:
