Hopefully this will be an historic day in New York & California Chrome becomes horse racing's 12th Triple Crown Winner. It's been 36 long years since Affirmed pulled off what has become a monumental task & what an emotional victory it would be. I'm sure I speak for 99.9% of the country when I say that California Chrome has won my heart & I'm praying he gets too the Wire first. Obviously he will go off as the heavy favorite this afternoon so this is not a Race in which I look too win a bunch of $$$ or have seriously handicapped for that matter. All of my efforts & emotions will be pointed toward a California Chrome victory!!! :mj09:
Since I'm hoping for an emotional & historic day @ Belmont Park, my 2nd choice is a horse that has some serious historical connections. #8-Commissioner(20-1) was sired by the 1992 Belmont Stakes Winner AP Indy & his dam Flaming Heart was sired by Touch Gold who won the Belmont back in 1997. AP Indy was a terrific runner & his sire was the great Seattle Slew. Indy's dam was named Weekend & she was sired by the greatest of them all...Secretariat. My just be my emotions telling me too bet on this equine but he does have the solid Jockey/Trainer combo of Javier Castellano/Todd Pletcher going for him too. In Commissioner's last event, the Peter Pan back on 5/10/2014 @ Belmont Park, he ran 2nd too another entry in today's Belmont Stakes #11-Tonalist(8-1). Having already run once @ Belmont Park should help Commissioner & hopefully he will get the better of Tonalist today. My favorite Jockey Mike Smith will be aboard #6-Matuszak(30-1) so I will add him too the mix in my exotic wagers. Also gonna use #9-Wicked Strong(6-1) who most observers think has the best chance too upset California Chrome's bid for immortality. Here are my attempts:
$20.00 Exacta 2/6,8,11
$10.00 Trifecta 2/8/6,11
$5.00 Super 2/8/6,11/6,9,11
Total Wagers: $100.00
Like I stated earlier, I'm not really concerned about my wagers in this Race or if I win any $$$ or not. The MAIN objective will be pulling for California Chrome too come home first & if we are lucky enough too see him in the Winner's Circle afterwards I'm sure mine will not be the only tears shed.
Good Luck MadJackers & God's Speed California Chrome!!!
