Well, I liked Owens as a person. He was always very approachable and a stand up guy in general. That said, I agree with the move to fire him as head coach. While loaded with offensive talent, he just could never seem to put a decent defense on the field year after year.
He was going to be fired last year for sure but saved his job with the big win over Marshall when they knocked Byron Leftwich out of the game.
Whomever they choose to succede Owens will probably have strong ties to the defensive side of the ball.
Pees is probably the next to go, and yes he also is very good man but that just does not translate to victories on the field of play.
