For the past 15 years (inflaton adjusted) GDP per capita, and real median family income have been going downhill. And the rate of decline is accelerating.

We have less money, so, no surprise, we are in recession.

Why are GDP and median income down?

No surprise, we have exported our jobs to China.

There is no other reason. Nothing individuals can do, from the President on down can solve the problem.

Congress *could* solve the problem by instituting tax disadvantages for foreign made goods, or by imposing import tariffs. They won't, of course, because they are in the pockets of big (job creators ha-ha-ha), jobs-exporting business.

Yup. We heard how the Republican controlled Congress was going to put our financial house back in order. Now, over the next 15 months we'll hear how a Republican President will fix our economy and they'll pretend it all started under Obama, and their base will lap it up, every drop of it. We'll continue playing politics instead of implementing any significant public policy to rebuild our economy and rebuild our country.

Nothing will EVER change unless we remove the influence of money from our political system. Since the Citizens United ruling, I don't know how we're going to do that but we could start by limiting the President and all members of Congress to one 6-year term. Governing a country isn't rocket science. We don't need career politicians. What we need is a system that prevents politicians from being influenced or corrupted by money and power.

Ah, yes, campaign time. I can hear it now. The cause of the recession is...take your choice:

1. People on welfare

2. Unions (Maggot)

3. Lazy people who won't work.

4. High corp taxes

5. High income taxes

6. Federal deficit spending (don't laugh, one idiot on this board has already made that claim).

7. Gay marriage

8. Black people (doggie's favorite)

9. Obama's aunt, wife, children or dog (skulnutz)

10. Barney Frank

11. Polar bears (Palin)

12. Abortion (Santorum)

13. The USDA (ssd)

by the way, if you haven't done so, you should Google "santorum".

Rom 3:10 ~ "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom 3:11 ~ There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Rom 3:12 ~ They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Rom 3:13 ~ Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:

Rom 3:14 ~ Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:

Rom 3:15 ~ Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:

Rom 3:16 ~ Destruction and misery [are] in their ways:

Rom 3:17 ~ And the way of peace have they not known:

Rom 3:18 ~ There is no fear of God before their eyes."

One more for the list Duff

#1. Incompetence - The Obama

How about if we all get behind term limits?

Buddy I was hoping Jesus would provide the answer, or at least some cash, out of that revival in Texas this weekend. Gold went up $66 an ounce today so maybe he did have a hand in it? It certainly separated Rick Perry from the group as a nitwit.
