Now, I'm certain there will be outcry from the usual suspect/groups on this and certainly a wrongful death lawsuit from the family, but I think the cop deserves a medal.

He should write a book on how to end a standoff. Call it "One Bullet To the Head".

Ammunition is getting tougher and tougher to come by these days, no reason to waste it. One through the forehead pretty much accomplishes the job every time.

This is a good way to put it. Clearly a calm resolution would have been better, but when a guy has a knife in the side of a 2 year old and says he's gonna start counting backwards from 60 and stab the girl when he gets to zero I figure it's time to make a difficult decision to cap his dumb ass once he hits 59.

I'm glad a guy was there who was willing to make the decision, as tough as that would have been.
