This is to answer the question by Toronto-Vigilante about fading who the Dunkel Index picks...

If you were to fade all of the Dunkel favorites, since Nov fifth, you would have a record around (I can't find my sheet for Nov 10, when three games were played) 38-29-6 picking sides. That would mean plays on all of the teams on the right below.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Boston 11.95 ( 2) Philadelphia * 10.00
Buffalo 8.20 ( 0) Ottawa * 8.17
Columbus 11.92 ( 2) Nashville * 10.32
Edmonton * 9.99 ( 0) Los Angeles 9.52
Florida * 11.52 ( 2) San Jose 9.14
Montreal * 11.19 ( 2) New Jersey 9.16
N.Y. Islanders 10.16 ( 1) Pittsburgh * 9.05
St. Louis 10.54 ( 1) Calgary * 9.40
Toronto * 9.33 ( 0) Detroit 9.13
Vancouver * 11.14 ( 1) N.Y. Rangers 10.57
Washington 11.37 ( 1) Minnesota * 10.45

The numbers inbetween the games are how much the favored team, found on the left, is favored by. What I did was to find the trends for these differences, based on half points. Here's how the records break down, with stars next to the highly favorable situations:

Home Team 42 - 28 *******
Favorite 30 - 40
Home favorite 22 - 20
Away favorite 8 - 20 *******

0-.24 home favorite 1 - 1
0-.24 away favorite 2 - 4
.25-.49 home favorite 3 - 1
.25-.49 away favorite 2 - 1

.50-.99 home favorite 2 - 6 *******
.50-.99 away favorite 1 - 5 *******
1.00-1.49 home favorite 7 - 5
1.00-1.49 away favorite 2 - 7 *******

1.50-1.99 home favorite 3 - 5
1.50-1.99 away favorite 1 - 2
2.00-2.49 home favorite 5 - 1 *******
2.00-2.49 away favorite 0 - 0

2.50-2.99 home favorite 0 - 1
2.50-2.99 away favorite 0 - 1
3.00-3.00+ home favorite 1 - 0
3.00-3.00+ away favorite 0 - 0

We'll take tonight's game between Washington and Minnesota as an example. Washington is favored on the road by .92 points over New York. Away favorites favored by .50-.99 points by the Dunkel system have gone 1-5 since Nov 5. The play, then, is on the home dog, or Minnesota.

If you simply fade all of their favorites however, you might miss out on this play: Florida is playing as a home favorite of 2.38 points against San Jose. Home teams favored by 2.00-2.49 points have gone 5-1 since Nov 5th. The play here is Florida.

Plays on this system have gone 47-20 (this number is 3 games off from the home record where 70 games factor into the win loss record due to the absence of my Nov 10th pick sheet, when three games were played) since Nov 5th.

That's the system I've been using. Since Nov 5th, it's only had 1 losing day and 1 day where it came out even picking the sides (2-4-1 on Nov 14 and 1-1-1 on Nov 13).

Yeah, I'm going to drive home now...
Good luck tonight!
