They say that the have a moral obligation to stop this "epidemic of gambling by minors". The real and only reason they want to stop on line gambling is because they can't have their "cut". Rest assured if there is a profitable business out there you can bet the Government will want part of the action.

There is Republican Senator named Jon Kyle from Arizona who wants to stop on line gambling. Please go to his website and harass him! He is backed by the Christian right who says gambling is the "Home of the Devil" unless you play Bingo or have Vegas Night in a church.

Conclusion the future of on line gambling is in the greedy hands of the politicians. If the Church groups and constituents want to get rid of on line gambling they will. You have to fight fire with fire and play dirty. The Off Shore companies are going to have to "grease" the politicians our they will soon be out of business.

PART 2

PART 2

People actually believe this bullsh!t!

After Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) championed the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act as a measure that would protect our children, his colleagues ignored concerns about civil liberties and enforcement problems and passed the measure by a vote of 90-10 last year.

It is hard to keep a bad idea down, though, and Kyl last week introduced a new version of the bill. The thoroughbred industry may be relatively unscathed by S. 692, for the bill principally targets the online gambling industry -- Internet sites offering casino-type games and bookmakers accepting wagers on sporting events. They should be banned, the measure's proponents say, because they contribute to gambling addiction and, most important, because children might gain access to them. Kyl invoked the possibility that kids could "wager with Mom's credit card, click the mouse and bet the house."

Of course, most politicians fret very selectively about the evils of gambling. If they really wanted to address abuses in the gambling industry, they could begin in their home states, for most government-sponsored lotteries employ aggressive, in-your-face, get-rich-quick marketing techniques that would shame the most brazen hustler.

If the politicians believe there are special dangers associated with Internet wagering, they should take note of the biggest gambling game in cyberspace: "day trading" of stocks through online brokerage services. Buying shares of Netscape in the hope that the stock will rise in the next six hours is every bit as much a gamble as a hand of blackjack or the daily double at Laurel.

A recent front-page article in The Washington Post concluded, "The rise of day trading has, for many traders, turned the stock market into an invisible nationwide casino . . ."

Legislators have focused on cybercasinos and bookmakers because this is such an easy political fight. Supporters of the Kyl bill are backed by family-values moralists, by college and professional sports establishments and even by the potent casino-gambling lobby, which doesn't want people playing blackjack on their computers instead of going to Las Vegas. Now it has the backing of the thoroughbred racing industry, too.

Another joke because Kyle and gimp Macain are in vegas at least every other month playing on the tables and other us house member big names have been spotted lot of times playing high stakes video poker and table games and pictures don't lie from the video servalence tapes, and the paper always has their names in spotted on the stip or in gaming today, and kyle last year and gimmpy both placed sports bets of a good size on get this college fb last time they were in town, now is'nt that funny, you might think the bible thumpers have more control but trust me they don't have the pockets gaming does, and i am not knocking regular church going people, for I am a person who donates to my church and goes on sat night not as much as I should or during the week for early am mass, but you get these people that think they are god and they are just nuts, but the church needs to worry about the church and not what other people want to spend their own money on, one of the reasons I don't go to church as much as I use to because lot of churches and the people in them are major hypocrits, and there for a fashion statement, or other social agenda, but yet these same so called pillers of the community will be out getting a hummer from some street walker or loaded and catch a dui saw it many many times in the 17 years I lived in the south from the carlionas down to fl, and I am sure it happens all over the place out here it is your mormens, not all churches are like this but many are and I stand behind that statement, and it is sad and trust me my faith has nothing to do with being in church every week, it is what I believe and what god knows so don't need a sermon if we do have any bible thumpers read this thread. like I stated major difference between good church going famlies as opposed to bible thumping fanatics, just want to make sure we are clear on that point.

it's interesting djv that you don't address the the first and most important point: lose your hard earned money

vote democrat and keep sending your money to washington to be redistributed by the elitists.

and for your other little rant, it makes absolutely no sense in the context of my post, as in giving these 3rd world countries power in the un and expecting the United States to follow their dictates and that is ONLY DONE BY THE PUSSY LEFT AS IN 8 YRS OF clinton.

Why don't you pick a side and quit carping at everything. You come across like a weak kneed mealy mouth whiner. All we hear from you is how bad everything is and how it will be worse because of the the Republicans. Is there anything about this country you like:shrug:

You know Ed I have always shared those sentiments about you.

Your a model liberal

You support presidents that are disbarred-impeached-convicted perjurer
---yet rant about unproven allegations of other presidents
--then get on your soapbox about innocent till proven guilty:142smilie

Hope your children go Canada if draft is ever invoked. You might ask Micheal Moore about how to file consciencious objector status and save airfare;)

and lets look at a few of the rights that your ACLU is fighting for

Nambla airing child porn--gays allowed to use state parks but not the boyscouts--terrorists rights-and I could fill a page of others
but here is classic example of your "rights" in todays paper--
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,115048,00.html

I could go on endlessly but have work to do this morning--
Have a nice day:)

It's so strange how our economy was running at full employment, and was thriving while at the same time running budget surpluses when the "fat cats" were paying their proper tax "burden".

The Bush tax cut for the wealthy is NOT healthy for a country unless your goal is to become an oligarchy of rich families.

IT IS VERY FUNDAMENTAL MATHEMATICS PEOPLE. THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE A HEALTHY DEMOCRACY IS TO HAVE A PROGRESSIVE TAX SYSTEM.

Now if you don't understand this then you failed to grasp the simplest concepts regarding rate of return.

Wayne:

When the President of Corporate America announced he was going to do a 1941 Japanese attack on Iraq, I stated at that time, that I would encourage my son to go to Canada instead of in harms way if he was drafted.

I got a lot of crap for that statement from flag waving minions like yourself. Boy do I ever stand by that statement now. In my best BeantownJim impersonation, I WOULD ENCOURAGE MY SON TO GO TO CANADA BEFORE GETTING DRAFTED AND GOING TO IRAQ.

If you are stupid enough (and I think you are) to send your family to fight a war for Haliburton, Bush family revenge, and Corporate America, God help your family. As I stated then, and as I state now, I would gladly lay my life down for this country for the right reasons. (Well, maybe not gladly)

Viet Nam and Iraq aint the right reasons. As Clark said last night on Charlie Rose, Iraq was the biggest foreign policy mistake since Viet Nam. Frankly, I disagree.............it was bigger. As is usual Bush form, he has further polarized the world.

Arab v. West
Rich v. Poor
Corporations v. Individuals
US v. the rest of the world except England and Spain.............opps.............take Spain off that list.

This comparision thing is kinda fun. Since you continue to bring up Billie boy, lets look at what your talkin about:

Billie lies about BJ;
Bushie lies about reasons for going to war with Iraq.

Results (I'm glad you asked)

Bushie: 500 + dead Americans 1000's injured and maimed;
untold thousands of dead Iraqi men, women and CHILDREN (you know that good old collateral damage)
Billie: 1 stained blue dress.

Yeah, my little corporate american minion, that "disbarred, impeached, convicted perjurer" really did this country in. You know, we really do live in two different countries, you and I. Right now, under this criminal administration, we are living in yours.

But Wayne old boy, I'm startin to sense the wind-a-changin. That complete moron on Pennsylvannia Avenue seems to be getting a bit unraveled. Although now he is trying to discredit the latest member of his staff to tell the truth about the lies that he and the other felons (Cheney/Rumsfeld) cooked up in order to beef up their respective family fortunes, I think it starting to come out in the wash.

Despite outspending Kerry 2 or 3 to 1, this murderer may lose this November. Just when I'm about to give up on the intellectual acumen of the American voting population, they may come back and surprise me. For the sake of this country, I hope so. Otherwise we are sure to see many more 9-11's as this most stupid man in DC continues to wage war instead of find a way to obtain peace.

Dogs, don't give me these unproven allegations about Bush. One year ago, you were yaking about all these weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. They aint there buddy. They aint there. Now like the good goose-stepping republican that you are, you shift gears and go to fall back reason number 2 (a).3 from the Bush Justification for War Manual.

You are pathetic.

unbelievable, besides being a fu**ing clown you are a yellow coward clown.

By your own statements you have proven my point about your political and now personal views. Typical left wing afraid to fight, oh yea you'll fight when YOU decide it's right, well yellow belly it doesn't work that way.

If you don't like it, please go to canada, or even farther north if possible.

it's funny you call Pres Bush a murder and all your comparisons are so lame. If anyone is a murderer it's billie blow job clinton as after 8 yrs of doing nothing and letting the un run our foreign policy the 2000 deaths on 9-11 are right at his door step, not Bush's who had only been in power for a little over 200 days.

You are the pathetic joke, your parents must be so proud, what a nitwit.

Eddie believe you are correct were fighting the wrong war again.
But show all these folks what your thoughts are. If say N Korea would deside to invade S Korea and kill aboit 10000 of our men. Then would you send your son to Canada. I have a hunch you would not. And would you not agree with me if that happened we should just toast N Korea. I mean sending 200000 men would not be necessary in that case. See with Iraq even tho many here were saying nuke Iraq. They didn't get it. We could not do it. OIL.
But these folks will call you all these names just to hide behind not haveing anything good to say.
DTB is not included in that bunch beause he is to smart for those dum ass remarks. And at least brings things to the tabe to debate.
I chuckle how they come up with a differant reason on Iraq per week. By that I mean Bush's men. It's like throw it in the air and see if it sticks. Of course Bush was preocuppied with Iraq.
After all Saddam put a hit on his oldman. From what I have seen of Iraq's army and Saddam. I wonder if he could even find soemone to do a hit on anyone. More noise then action. God Dam hole hideing nothing. And we were worried about him.

Now Edward From the very start of war I have been adament that I could care less if we found weapons of mass distruction.
If you will go back to start of war and we were asking debating at U.N. it was over Many resolutions that !raq refused to comply with for year. All they had to do was let comply and no war period.
So in my view they are as much if not more to blame for war.

---and I don't think I ever dissed slick for BJ's as I would not begrudge anyone--however Lieing is lying regardless of what its about.
The only reference I've have made concerning BJ's was in context to liberal affliation such as National Org of Women who continued to back Slick but dis Bush for both wars which have allowed womens rights in countries where they were 3rd class citizens.
Just who are they looking out for--it certainly isn't women.

--and on Clarke which report of his should we believe the one in 2002 praising Bush or the one after dismissal and having his book go on sale in 2004. Only that is absolutely certain is at one point in time he was a blantant liar. You see Eddie as with Kerry,Dean and most liberals, if your on both sides of the fence you can always say you were right---even a stopped clock is correct twice a day;)

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,115099,00.html

and on Iraq being a disaster--I will have to agree to an extent--as it has been disasterous for Hussein-his sons-the Bathe party-the suicide bombers he paid homage to their familys-Islam fundamentalist---and especialially disasterous for terrors movement in middle east when they now have 2 countries in there midst with some sort of democracy.
--So we are somewhat in agreement :) it is no secret who these Arab states are pulling for in the election--and it may be time for some supporting liberals to ask themselves WHY?????
