Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Anybody notice?

Denver at Indy, Peyton needed 3 yards to get passing record.

Indy running out clock at games end takes a knee.

Denver is out of time-outs YET time would have been left for Denver to get the ball after 4th down kneel down.

Even if they kick a field goal...possibly getting the 3 yard pass at Indy Stadium there would have been time left.

4th down, clock winding down, there is a Bull-shit PHANTOM defensive holding call on a kneel-down play, giving Indy an automatic first down to resume taking a knee to end game.

So for entertainment purposes, Manning gets the record at home next week vs K.C. remember when you bet NFL,
it is on par with Pro Wrestling ..

I may be in the minority, but I find NFL games tougher and tougher to watch these last few years.

Play for the fourth quarter quotes. Make me cringe... In a way it's like wrestling,my buddy and I always joke , you don't want to be winning at halftime.

Let me preface this by saying that I agree with the larger point about NFL games getting harder to watch and games increasingly being decided by something other than the players playing the game.

But I don't at all agree with this specific example.

First - the defensive holding call came on the FG attempt (not a kneel down) and while that's an extremely rare call to make it was very obvious and hardly phantom. The defender grabbed the lineman's jersey and tried to throw him out of the way to get at the ball.

Second - if you're going to script something, what better drama than to have Manning break the record in Indy, where he played most of his career and won a Super Bowl, on a potentially game-winning drive? What writer would instead say "nah; let's have him break it at home next week, on his first pass in the first quarter of a game against a 3-5 team that he has no history with"?
