I have noticed somewhat of a trend in college basketball that I will keep an eye on throughout the rest of the season. Im actually surprised that I havent heard it on here before. Well.... here goes.

After a non ranked team beats a Top 5 team or have a big win They have a let down the next game. Obviously, teams get big heads after a big win and what do they do? GO NUTS!!! Party it up and get wasted.

side note: BYU and others strict schools will not count becuase they arent allowed to drink a drop.

I have witnessed this first hand with the UNLV basketball team this year. They beat L'ville and then didnt cover against New Mexico. They ALL went nuts on the strip the night before they left for Colorado St. then lost to them.

just food for thought... and I thought I would share.

Take it for what its worth.

Its not foolproof but there is always a chance for a letdown. After BC beat UNC, I told myself no matter what the line, I was going to take UNC to bounce back next game (which they did).

I also said I would take whoever played BC and just completely didn't see them the night they played Harvard and was kicking myself the next day.

Doesn't always work and I think more chance of letdown in football, but it is something to consider...

tweak on the party theory

tweak on the party theory

I have played this for years with a good rate of return. If an unranked team beats a ranked team and plays another ranked team the next game, bet against them.

This works for two reasons, first your hangover letdown reason, and second because the line value is better because of the unranked team's recent win.

It also works on the other side, bet on a ranked team who was upset the previous game by an unranked team and next plays another unranked team.

Warning: be careful of road favorites in conference games.

Thanks for the comments guys!!!!

I just got home from playing cards and noticed the roomate was out. Im sure he's out partying with all the UNLV guys celebrating on the strip for the BYU win:drinky: . Maybe playing Utah plus the points when they come to Thomas and Mack will be a pretty good play. We shall see. Ill let ya know if they go out tomorrow night too. That could mean DOUBLE HANGOVER:00hour
