The Internal Revenue Service tracks the tax returns with the 400 highest adjusted gross incomes each year. The average income on those returns in 2007, the latest year for IRS data, was nearly $345 million. Their average federal income tax rate was 17 percent, down from 26 percent in 1992.

So when's all that going to "trickle down"?

When hell freezes over.

Couple this disappointing fact with the news that 47% of Americans pay no federal income tax at all and then can anyone wonder why we have a $15T deficit?

I guess the joke is on the middle class who make enough to pay income tax and can not get all the crazy deductions.

Change the tax code - eliminate the loopholes.

I guess the joke is on the middle class

And a cruel joke it is - as the middle class is being destroyed by exporting jobs, outlawing unions, eliminating health ins and other benefits. The right wing now wants to destroy the social programs which the middle class has paid for. It's enough to gag a maggot.

Let them eat enough cake, and maybe we'll have a revolution.

The Teaparty is already in revolt, but they don't understand the problem. They think unfettered Capitalism is their friend.
